Divine healing.
A bedtime meditation story for sleep and faith.
Welcome,
Beloved child of God.
To this restful bedtime journey.
This is Rhonda Jones,
The Christian meditator.
And tonight.
As you prepare to drip.
Into peaceful sleep I invite you to lay down every worry and burden at the feet of Jesus.
Feel your body sink into the mattress beneath you.
Supported and safe Let your breathing slow and deepen.
As you listen to his words his stories and his healing touch.
Close your eyes and take a long,
Gentle breath in.
And exhale.
Letting go of the day Envision a soft warm light.
Like a golden blanket.
Enveloping you from head to toe.
Assuring that you are loved,
Protected,
And held in the arms of your savior You are safe here.
The day is finished.
The work is done.
You do not need to carry anything more tonight.
Just breathe.
Slowly.
Inhale the grace of God exhale the worries of the world Your heart is His.
You are hell.
Let your shoulders drop.
Let your jaw relax.
Your mind is allowed to rest There is nothing you need to fix while you sleep God is working while you rest His love is constant his presence is your pillow as you listen to this bedtime story Let the words wash over you like a gentle stream.
You are not listening to perform.
You are listening to be restored.
Prepare your heart for the healing words You are exactly where you need to be.
Rest deeply in God's loving arms as we begin.
This bedtime.
Sleep story.
Jesus said that He is the God.
Who takes away all of our sickness and heals all of our diseases.
Tonight.
You will travel back in time.
To when Jesus walked the earth in all his splendor and power.
You find yourself in the center.
Of a bustling plaza.
Where warm stone underfoot still holds the sun's lasting glow A soft breeze carries the distant hum of conversation.
Voices brimming with hope.
That today Jesus will pass by.
As you breathe in this anticipation.
Remind yourself.
Even now.
As you drift towards sleep.
God's healing presence is with you.
A crowd is beginning to assemble.
And anticipation fills the air.
You overhear the conversations of his coming.
And all the miracles he is doing in the city.
This is your chance to see Jesus.
As he passes by.
And to experience.
Would you have heard about him?
Through his word.
The crowd is thicker now.
If you're going to get a good look.
You'll need to find a better location to stand.
As you look around.
You see a tree in the distance.
The stump and branches.
Lowing up.
To give the elevation you will need to see over the crowds You make your way to the tree.
Climbing up several branches.
And find a comfortable place to rest.
As you wait in anticipation.
For the Lord to come.
Here,
High above the crowd.
You feel a gentle calm.
Let your eyelids grow heavy.
As you rest against the smooth wood this sleepy hush.
You know.
Just as you trust God to heal.
You can trust him to watch over you as you sleep.
Finally.
You are going to see God.
The Son of God.
Who is known as Healer.
Redeemer father and friend.
This is an extra special occasion for you.
Because just as Jesus has healed so many others.
Perhaps this day.
Healing will be available to you as you wait.
You're visited by a man.
Who tells you that he once was blind.
And that Jesus put clay in his eyes and now he could see.
He yells,
Hallelujah!
Jesus is my healer.
He can heal you.
And set you free,
" he says.
As he dances away.
As you settle back.
Into the quiet hush around you.
Allow your eyes to grow heavy.
Knowing that just as he received new sight You are invited.
To see with fresh new eyes.
Feel the support of the bed beneath you Cradling your body in softness and rest.
Imagine Jesus's gentle touch.
Opening the windows of your soul letting healing light pour in with each breath.
Sense gratitude for the promise that he can restore what was lost.
Rest now in that hope.
Allowing your mind to wander.
Through the possibilities of your own renewal.
A few moments later.
As you are perched in the tree.
A gentle woman settles down next to you.
She has you.
Are you waiting for Jesus?
You respond with a firm yes.
There was a time I waited for him to pass by.
Just so I could touch the Himmabis garment.
She said.
I believe.
That if I could only touch him.
I would be healed of my continuous bleeding.
I hit so many doctors.
But none of them could help me I crawled through the crowd just to reach him.
And when I got close enough.
I touch the tail of his clothing.
And immediately I felt a power overtake me.
His virtuous power.
He felt it too because he turned around and said,
Who touched me?
I felt power leave my body.
When he saw me.
Jesus told me that my faith had made me whole.
After that,
The woman went on her way.
Praising the Lord for her health.
As her story of faith and healing settles around you like a soft blanket.
Allow your shoulders to relax.
And your eyelids to grow heavy.
Imagine the gentle touch of her face.
Brushing against your own heart.
Reminding you that even the smallest act of trust can awaken mighty power Breathe deeply now.
Drawing in the promise of healing and exhaling any doubt or fear.
Feel gratitude rise within you for the courage it takes to reach out in faith.
And rest in the assurance that your own touch of belief invites wholeness.
Do your trick now.
This quiet confidence knowing that the same grace is ever near.
Not much later,
A proud handsome man appears.
Hello,
You said to him.
He replied back with a gracious hello.
Whatever you do,
He said.
Don't doubt God.
And do whatever he tells you to do.
My name is Naaman.
And I once had a terrible and deadly disease.
I wanted God to heal me through the prophet Elijah.
But I had so much pride in my heart.
He humbled me.
By telling me to dip down seven times in a muddy river.
Me,
A nobleman,
In a muddy river?
How embarrassing that was to me.
But I humbled myself.
And obeyed.
And on the seventh dip.
All my disease was gone.
I owe it all to God.
Nothing is impossible to God.
Or to him who believes.
Hold onto your faith,
Humble yourself,
And obey.
And he will heal you.
Any win away.
Allow his words to settle into your heart.
As you feel the rise and fall of your breath Picture yourself.
By that muddy riverbank.
Humble,
Hopeful.
And ready to obey God's gentle instructions.
As you exhale.
Release any pride or hesitation.
That holds you back.
And inhale freedom.
That comes from trusting in his perfect plan.
Know that,
Like Naaman.
Your obedience and faith invite miraculous healing into every corner of your life.
Rests now in that promise.
Letting gratitude and peace carry you deeper into sleep a young woman.
With soft eyes approaches you smiling.
Have faith in God,
She says.
Many years ago,
My brother was deadly ill.
And I asked Jesus to come right away.
I knew that if he got here quickly.
He would make my brother well.
But to my fear and dismay.
Jesus took his time coming.
And my brother died.
I felt like God had forsaken me.
That he didn't care about me and that I was all alone.
When Jesus finally arrived,
I was disheartened and upset.
I lashed out at him,
Saying,
If he would have come earlier,
My brother Lazarus would still be alive.
Jesus responded to me.
By saying only believe.
I am the resurrection and the life.
He told me that my brother was only asleep.
But how could that be?
I took Jesus to the tomb where my brother was buried.
As jesus stood in front of the rock he said lazarus come forth When the rock was removed,
There stood Lazarus alive and well.
All power is in God's hands.
And he does have the power to heal and raise the dead.
He has not forsaken you or turned a deaf ear towards your pleading and cries.
He will come soon.
You will see him pass by.
Just wait.
I must go and find him,
" she says.
As she walks away.
Have faith,
" she says.
As her story of hope rising from greed settles around you.
Feel your breath grow soft and steady.
Imagine resting beside that tomb.
Heart heavy one moment and buoyed by faith the next.
Inhale deeply.
Drawing in the promise that Jesus brings life.
Even where things seem hopeless.
Exhale.
And let go of any lingering fear.
Trusting that his timing is perfect.
And his power knows no limits.
Rest now in that assurance allowing his peace to cradle you as sleep draws near.
Standing near the tree was an older gentleman.
Who leaned in closer.
For many years,
I could not walk,
He recalls,
But I never gave up on my healing.
Within one day.
While I sat by a healing pool.
Waiting for someone to put me in.
Jesus arrived.
He asked me,
Do you want to be made whole?
Of course I did,
I said.
I've been waiting for someone to put me in the healing pool for many years.
I thought maybe Jesus would put me in the pool.
But instead,
He said,
Pick up your bed and walk.
After he said it,
I didn't feel anything supernatural.
But I did as he asked.
And as I lifted my leg to get up,
Strength entered my feet.
I was so overjoyed that I told everyone I met.
I guess I had to act on my faith before he would heal me.
He tells you as he wanders off.
As his words of obedience and faith.
Settle around you.
Feel the gentle rhythm of your breathing.
Guiding you deeper into calm.
Picture yourself rising from your own places of doubt.
Lifted by the same quiet strength.
That steadied his feet.
With each inhale.
Draw in the assurance that your small acts of faith carry great power.
With each exhale.
Release any lingering hesitation or fear.
Imagine Jesus standing beside you now.
Offering his hand and inviting you to stand Rest here in that promise.
Allowing his gentle peace to move through you.
Like a warm embrace as each story fades.
Feel your own mind grow quiet.
Your body more relaxed.
Drifting ever closer to restful sleep.
As each person leaves you,
You feel so honored to hear their testimonies of healing.
You know that if God healed them,
He most certainly has the power to heal you.
If only you could see Jesus and experience His love.
And healing power for yourself You close your eyes and begin to daydream.
About what that experience.
Meeting Jesus and being healed of all of your infirmities would be like?
Not long after,
You hear a voice saying hello my child.
The soothing voice snaps you back into reality.
When you open your eyes,
In front of you is He.
The Great I Am.
The healer.
The Redeemer.
The Savior.
The provider.
The Father and your friend.
So you've been waiting to see me?
He says with delight.
His gaze is so intense and his love so powerful your whole body goes nam and you fall from the tree into his mighty arms.
As you stand.
And regain your composure.
Jesus says.
I believe you have a request of me.
Today I will be your guest.
You are in awe as you walk arm in arm with Jesus on the way to your house.
What's inside?
Jesus asked.
What do you want me to do for you?
You tell him.
Do you believe I can do this?
He asked.
Then your faith has made you whole.
With that.
Jesus touches your forehead with the tip of his finger.
And a light instantly fills every cell of your body.
Your healing has begun,
He says.
All your illness is gone.
The Son of God has set you free.
Healing is a heritage to the children of God.
Who weighed on him.
Don't doubt.
Humble themselves,
And obey God's leading.
Trusted your faith in God to heal you.
And praise him for the outcome.
I am the God that heals you of all your sickness and takes away all your disease.
Now imagine being guided back to your own bed,
Safe and sound in your room.
Feel the cool sheets against your skin.
The pillow cradling your neck Recall every healing story.
Every tender word.
Knowing that the same Jesus who healed then is with you now.
Even as you sleep.
Breathe in slowly and exhale.
Releasing every last thought.
Matthew 11 28 whispers in your heart.
Come to me.
All you who labor.
And are heavy laden.
And I will give you rest Come to me.
All you who are weary and burdened My yoke is easy.
My burden is light.
I am your rest You are safe in my hands.
Your heart is mending You are breathing in my peace Let everything else go.
Healed.
Restored anchored in love There is nothing left to do Only rest Jesus is here.
Sleep in his presence.
Rest in his love Let those words become a lullaby.
Carrying you gently into dreams in these final moments.
Surrender every worry into his loving hands.
May the peace of Christ guard your heart and mind as you sleep.
Good night,
Dear child of God.
Sleep well in his perfect love.
