Hello and welcome to this meditation about reframing fear as fuel.
I am Rashid Zahidi,

Find a comfortable position,
Sitting or lying down.
Allow your hands to rest gently,
And when you're ready,
Softly close your eyes.
Take a slow,
Deep breath in through your nose,
And gently exhale through your mouth.
Again,
Inhale slowly,
And exhale,
Letting your body begin to soften.
And one more time,
Inhale,
And exhale longer than before.
Now,
At your convenience,
Allow your breathing to return to a natural rhythm.
And bring your awareness to your body.
Notice where you are.
Notice the points of contact.
Maybe your feet,
Your back,
Your hands.
No need to change anything.
Just observe.
Now,
Gently bring to mind something that has been causing you fear or hesitation.
Not the most overwhelming situation,
Just something real,
Something present and on top of your mind.
As you hold it lightly in your awareness,
Notice what happens in your body.
Where do you feel it?
Is it in your chest?
Is it in your stomach?
Maybe your throat?
Or is it your shoulders?
Wherever it may be in your body,
And without judgment,
Simply observe.
Now,
Place one hand over that area,
If it feels comfortable.
Take a slow breath in,
And imagine sending that breath directly into that sensation.
As you exhale,
Allow that area to soften,
Just slightly.
Again,
Breathe into it.
And out.
Not trying to remove the feeling,
But making space for it.
Letting your body know it is safe to feel this.
Now,
Gently shift your perspective.
This sensation,
This energy in your body,
What if it's not here to stop you,
But to prepare you?
What if this is activation,
Not danger?
Feel into that idea.
This is your body gathering energy,
Focusing your attention,
Getting you ready.
You can silently repeat,
This is not something is wrong.
This is my body preparing me.
Take a breath,
And notice if anything shifts,
Even slightly.
Now,
Imagine this sensation,
This energy,
Begins to change form.
See it as a light,
Or a warmth,
Or a current moving through you.
Instead of tightening,
It begins to flow.
From your chest,
Down your arms,
Through your core,
And into your legs.
It becomes steady,
Usable,
Supported.
This is your fuel.
Not something to fight,
But something to direct.
Now,
Bring to mind the situation again,
But this time see yourself moving forward in it.
Not perfectly,
Not fearlessly,
But steadily.
See yourself taking the step,
Starting the conversation,
Showing up,
Speaking clearly,
Acting in any way.
Notice your posture,
Your breathing,
Your presence.
You are not without fear,
But you are no longer controlled by it.
You are moving with it.
Now,
Gently bring awareness back to your body.
Notice your breath again.
Notice your posture.
Notice the space you've created inside.
And silently repeat,
I can feel fear and still move forward.
This energy is here to support me.
I turn fear into fuel.
Take one deeper breath in and a slow breath out.
Begin to bring small movement back to your body.
Wiggle your fingers.
Wiggle your toes.
And when you're ready,
Gently open your eyes and carry this with you.
Fear is not your enemy.
It is energy waiting for direction.
