A brief 6-minute meditation to help you access your Inner Wisdom to support, care for, and provide guidance to an activated part. This meditation is informed by Internal Family Systems, Ego-state therapy, and Schema Therapy. It is a helpful meditation to use when you feel that you have activated a part present- for example, an anxious, depressed, people-pleasing, or guilty part.

Perhaps you've noticed that you currently have a part activated at the moment.

An anxious part,

Or an overly people-pleasing part.

Maybe it's a depressed part,

Or an exhausted part,

Or a part that feels really guilty.

Whatever that part is,

Can we see if we can explore it?

What emotions are currently present?

Where do you feel this part in your body?

And what thoughts are currently circling your mind?

Now can we access your own inner wisdom?

The adult version of you,

Who can now meet this part's needs.

Perhaps there are areas in your life where you notice that this wiser version of yourself is present.

Maybe it's when you're at work,

Or with your friends,

Or when you're parenting your children.

Many people find that placing their hand on their heart allows them to access their inner wisdom.

So just finding what works for you to access your inner wisdom.

Can you imagine yourself as an older,

Wiser,

Kinder adult,

Who is here to take care of you,

And take care of that activated part within you?

Imagining what this older,

Wiser adult version of you looks like.

What are they wearing?

What does their face look like?

What's the colour of their hair?

And once you can picture them,

Allow this older or wiser version of you to start approaching you,

To come towards you.

As they approach,

Can you notice the look on their face as they see that you are suffering right now?

Just notice how your older,

Wiser self reacts to you right now,

To your activated part,

Witnessing your pain.

And as this wiser version of yourself approaches you,

Allow them to ask you,

What is it that you need right now?

Once your part has shared with them,

Allow your inner wisdom to share their wisdom and compassion with you.

Knowing that they have the very best intentions for you.

They're here to support and guide you.

Take their wisdom in.

Allow their care.

And allow this activated part of you to know that this older,

Wiser,

Kinder version of you is available to you at all times.

Simply by tuning in and listening to their voice.

And when you have accessed it,

Making sure that you turn around that younger,

Activated part in you to face your inner wisdom.

Allowing that younger,

Activated part to take in the care and guidance from your older,

Wiser self.
