Meditation is not just about the nervous system.
And being calm.
It does those things.
But what meditation really does on a powerful,
Profound level.
Is it balances your masculine and feminine qualities within you.
That's what I've discovered after 15 years of daily meditation.
And after 12 years of working one-to-one with people.
In this video,
I'm going to describe what masculine energy is and what feminine energy is in the context of meditation and how it can radically improve your life.
So let's start with.
The foundations.
Everything has gender.
Everything has gender.
Masculine or feminine polarity.
So that means that you or me as a male.
I'm not just masculine 100%.
I have masculine energy,
But I also have feminine energy.
And that goes for you too.
And it goes for everybody on planet earth.
We have both.
We are.
We are two forces at once.
So let's start with.
The feminine.
Ladies first.
I like to start with the feminine because I believe it's easier to understand.
So.
.
.
The feminine.
Is movement.
The feminine is form.
In motion.
What kinds of examples can we use?
So right now,
As you're watching this video.
You are experiencing.
Many different stimuli.
You have your bodily sensations For example,
Warmth in your hand,
The sensations of your lips.
You can hear things.
You can hear the sound of my voice.
Maybe you've got some noisy neighbours.
You can see visual stimuli.
And you can also feel emotions.
In your chest or in your body.
And these experiences are in motion.
Stationary or still.
They're always moving.
This is a hermetic principle.
The law of vibration.
That means that.
Even this wall here,
It appears to be still.
But it's actually moving,
It's actually vibrating on a subatomic level.
Electrons pulsating.
If you're interested in spirituality or you've read some parts of yogic philosophy.
The word Shakti may mean something to you.
And I'm going to describe to you what it is.
So Shakti is the universal principle of form in motion.
It's the feminine.
It's the divine feminine.
Form in powerful dynamic movement.
When you meditate.
If you sit down to meditate daily.
What you'll experience is.
.
.
Form in motion.
You're going to experience thoughts,
What's for dinner?
What did I do earlier?
That person said that to me.
You're going to experience different emotions flowing through you.
You're going to hear different things around you.
Maybe you've got some music on.
Maybe you've got.
.
.
Someone guiding you in a meditation.
The main thing is that you are experiencing the movement quality of reality.
And you are.
Being with that,
You are being with that movement.
So meditation is nourishing your relationship to the feminine.
The feminine qualities of reality and also the feminine qualities within you.
Movement.
And one further point about the feminine.
Think of.
.
.
Human being who is female.
They have a hormonal profile which is dynamic.
Unlike a masculine.
Hormonal profile.
They go through follicular phase,
They go through ovulation,
They go through luteal phase,
Different peaks and troughs in their hormones,
Oestrogen,
Progesterone,
Things like that.
Whereas men,
They have a much more consistent flat line of hormones.
So now let's move over to the masculine.
And how it relates to meditation.
The masculine is stillness.
The masculine is.
.
.
Consistent,
Powerful stillness.
Force but stillness.
The masculine is the present moment itself.
This field of awareness in which life takes place.
In David Dader's book.
The way of the superior man.
He talks about how the feminine is movement energy,
Consciousness in motion.
And the masculine is presence,
Awareness.
And that's what we're talking about here.
The masculine in your life is the stillness which perceives reality.
Awareness itself.
Raw.
Formless awareness.
It's like the sun.
The sun just is.
The sun doesn't start and stop or change.
The sun is a consistent force which illuminates.
That's your masculine on a universal level.
And this reality right now that you're experiencing,
Perhaps the room in which you're in.
Your reality is experienced in a field of consciousness,
The masculine.
What happens when you meditate?
When you meditate The masculine holds space.
Full form.
The masculine holds space for the feminine form in motion.
If we're going to talk about Hindu philosophy again,
Then we're talking about Shiva.
Shiva is the universal quality of stillness.
Space.
Now how does meditation balance and nourish these two qualities?
Aspects of your being,
The masculine and the feminine.
When you practice meditation,
Focus.
Weeks and months and hopefully years.
What happens is you end up with a marriage.
A true union of these two features within you.
You end up with a marriage,
A yoga.
Yoga means a union in the truest sense.
You end up with a yoga of masculine and feminine where stillness and movement are connected.
So what you're doing is you are regularly showing up within yourself and merging the two most primary forces of your being.
Form,
And awareness So next time you meditate.
Try to notice that there are actually two things going on.
There are form in motion.
Things to perceive,
Sounds,
Thoughts,
Bodily sensations,
Emotions,
But you also have an underlying stillness which perceives and holds space for it all.
And if you consistently meditate for weeks and months,
These two aspects of your being merge and you end up with oneness,
Wholeness marriage.
