Hello friend and welcome.
Find a comfortable place to sit or lay down and just begin to notice that you're breathing.
Notice your belly filling with air.
Pause.
Breathe in.
Hold.
Breathe out.
Let your shoulders drop.
Free the body from its tension.
Soften your eyes from strain or squint.
Relax the face muscles.
You're safe.
Allow your mind to go fuzzy,
Maybe blank.
Introduce some light to the mind.
Now,
As you breathe deeply,
I invite you to picture yourself sitting in a safe place.
I invite you to envision the shallow water of a stream.
The water is soft and refreshing against your skin,
Lapping around your legs and carrying on down the stream.
Sunshine from above warms your face and your back.
Soft sand moves under you.
All around you is lush greenery.
You hear the water babble around you.
Maybe birds.
Maybe trees swaying.
The sounds of nature.
You smell fresh air.
Summer smells.
Nearby,
Your baby delights in the water.
They are safe.
They have food.
You both sit in the water,
Letting it hold you two together in its natural,
Gentle force.
They are with you,
And they are so happy.
The world delights in their beautiful,
Playful joy.
Also nearby,
I invite you to envision a younger you.
You might be a baby,
A child,
Or a teenager.
They're having a beautiful moment,
Playing in the water,
Reaching to the sky,
Smiling.
They don't have to perform or peace keep here.
They just get to be a kid.
They deserve to let go and be a kid.
Extend to them the love they deserve.
Breathe in and out and send them love.
Only you know what is going on in their life and inside their mind.
So show them the compassion they need.
Watch them play.
Watch your baby play.
Everyone is safe in the water here together.
Take in the scenery.
Smell,
See,
Hear,
Feel the safe space around you and your young ones.
Go around and know that this space is always here for you when you need it.
Look to little you and say goodbye.
They thank you for the visit.
Wrap your baby up in your arms and wade out of the water.
The air is warm.
Come back to the room.
Keep breathing.
Settle back in.
When you are ready,
You can open your eyes and be safe here with me.
