Welcome to drawing meditation.
Following your own path into summer.
Welcome,
Welcome everyone.
Today we will enjoy a gentle drawing meditation.
Inspired by the summer solstice.
The longest day of the year.
And a celebration of light,
Warmth and growth.
There is no right or wrong way to draw.
This is not about artistic skill.
It is simply a time to relax.
Be present.
And enjoy the creative process.
Take a comfortable seat.
Place both feet on the floor and allow your shoulders to soften.
Take a slow breath in.
And a slow breath out.
Again,
Breathing in calm.
And breathing out any tension.
Close your eyes if you feel comfortable doing so.
Imagine it is a beautiful summer morning.
The air is warm and gentle.
You are walking along a beautiful path through nature.
Above you,
The sky is bright and clear.
The sun shines softly.
Filling the day with warmth and light.
Notice a few fluffy clouds floating slowly across the sky.
Around you are green trees standing tall and strong.
Perhaps you hear birds singing in the distance.
The path beneath your feet is smooth and easy.
As you walk,
You feel calm.
Relaxed and supported.
Take a moment to notice all the things that have helped you grow over the years.
Your experiences.
Friendships.
Lessons?
And memories.
Like the trees around you,
You have grown through many seasons.
Like the sun above,
There is still light within you.
Pause quietly for a few breaths.
Breathing in peace.
Breathing out gratitude.
Breathing in light.
Breathing out tension.
When you are ready,
Gently open your eyes.
Now we will create a simple summer landscape together.
So for that you need a paper and a pen or a pencil.
Begin by drawing a large Sun in the sky.
You can draw it in the center,
Maybe left corner or right corner.
Take your time.
Now draw three clouds.
Allow them to float gently across your page.
Next,
Draw two trees.
They can be any shape you like.
Next.
Draw a path leading through your picture.
Perhaps it curves gently towards the horizon.
Now add two flowers beside the path.
Your favorite flowers.
Two of them.
You may also add a bird,
Maybe one or two birds.
Maybe by the sun or by the clouds,
Or maybe the birds are sitting on the tree.
Take your time.
We are not looking for perfection.
Now you may draw a hill,
A small hill.
Maybe one or two or three.
As you wish.
Remember,
Simple is perfect.
There is no need to rush.
Enjoy each line as it appears on the page.
Now we will slowly transform our drawing into a mindful mandala inspired picture.
Now how do we do that?
Simple.
Choose repeating patterns.
You might fill the sun with dots.
The clouds with spirals.
The tree tops with leaf patterns.
The flowers with circles.
The hills with curves.
The path with circles.
Maybe the trees with hearts.
So choose a pattern.
You are going to be repeating the pattern.
Or you can just go with straight lines.
Just from top to bottom and change colors top to bottom maybe the hill line colors are different The trees,
Lines,
Colors are different.
Just lines,
Straight lines from top to bottom,
Top to bottom.
That's also okay.
As you draw each pattern,
Allow your attention to rest on the movement of your pen.
Let it flow.
One line.
One dot,
One curve at a time.
If your mind wanders,
Gently return your attention to the pattern you were creating.
There is nowhere else you need to be.
Nothing else you need to do.
Just this moment now.
Your presence.
Just this line.
I'm going to leave you here for some time.
Pick colors of your choice.
Pick the patterns of your choice.
Now it's you and your drawing.
I'll come back to you little later.
Welcome back.
As you look at your finished picture,
Notice how simple shapes became something unique and beautiful through patience and attention.
The summer solstice reminds us that growth happens little by little.
Just as the trees grow one leaf at a time.
And flowers bloom one petal at a time,
We continue to grow through every season of life.
Take one final slow breath in.
And slowly breathe out.
Thank you.
Very grateful.
For sharing this creative and mindful journey today with me.
May you carry a little more light.
Peace and joy into the days ahead.
Namaste.
