Welcome to this Wild Woman Yoga Nidra.
Before we begin,
Notice if there's anything you need or desire to be comfortable and take a moment to give that to yourself.
Maybe that's more support,
More warmth,
More darkness.
Maybe you need to shake out,
Adjust your head or your neck.
Maybe you'd like to place your hands on your body.
Maybe your right hand on your heart,
The left hand on your womb space or pubic area.
And when you feel like you've found a good resting position,
You might like to take a deep slow inhale through your nose and sigh out through your mouth with a sound of relief like this.
And you can do this a few times if it feels good.
As if to say to yourself that finally,
Finally I have arrived.
Landing here,
In this space,
In this body.
And then you can let your breath flow softly through your nostrils as you rest your bones down on the earth,
Letting her hold you.
And as the breath comes and goes,
You might notice a pause between the inhales and exhales.
A moment of stillness.
And maybe each exhale will take you deeper into the loving embrace of Mother Earth.
Notice where you can feel your body being held and maybe allow yourself to take up more space,
To receive more support.
And as this is a moment to simply be present with yourself,
You might like to let go of all the doing and performing,
Of the people-pleasing and perfectionism,
Of all the fears and the shame.
And offer it all down to the earth,
Letting her carry it all for you,
So that you can land in your heart space,
Coming home.
Welcome home,
Perhaps to a wilder version of yourself that is untamed,
Fearless and free.
Maybe you can open up your heart to receive her and all of her wisdom.
What does she have to tell you?
And maybe you can feel the weight and warmth of your hand if it's resting on your chest and your beating heart beneath it,
Feeling its steady pulse as you come back into rhythm with nature and yourself.
Welcome home.
Maybe you can feel this pulse in your right thumb as well,
This beat of vital life dancing in every cell.
Can you feel it in the tip of your right thumb,
In your index finger,
Long finger,
Ring finger and little finger?
Can you feel a pulse in your right palm?
And then moving your awareness up your forearm as if gently stroked by an invisible hand.
And you might feel how your skin comes alive,
Moving the awareness up your forearm to your elbow,
Elbow crease,
Upper arm,
Shoulder,
The right armpit.
Gently tracing the curve of your body down your ribs to your right waist and hip,
To the groin,
Thigh,
Knee and chin,
To your foot and toes.
Can you feel a pulse in your toes,
Your big toe,
Second toe,
Third,
Fourth,
Fifth?
And then moving your awareness across to your left hand thumb,
Feeling the gentle pulsation in the tip of your left thumb,
Index finger,
Long finger,
Ring finger and little finger.
Can you feel the rhythmic beat in your left palm?
And gently stroking the skin of your forearm with your awareness as you travel up your arm to your elbow,
Elbow crease,
Upper arm and shoulder.
And coming down into your left armpit,
Tracing the side of the rib cage down to the curve of your waist and hip,
To your groin,
Thigh,
Knee,
Shin and ankle.
Feeling the aliveness in every part of the leg and the foot and the big toe,
Second toe,
Third,
Fourth and fifth.
Perhaps feeling this pulsating energy in the soles of your feet and heels,
In the back of the legs,
The calves,
Back of knees,
Back of thighs.
Gently stroking the legs with your awareness as you move up to your buttocks and sacrum,
To lower back,
Upper back,
To shoulder blades and back of neck,
To the back of head,
Crown of head and forehead.
Maybe allowing your forehead to soften,
Your eyes to relax,
Maybe there's a pulse there,
Behind your closed eyelids and in your temples.
Can you feel it there as well?
How about in the ears,
Behind the ears,
In the cheeks,
Nose?
Can you feel your breath coming and going at a rhythmic pace,
In and out?
Can you gently stroke the skin of your face with your awareness?
Maybe feeling this pulsating energy in your lips and tongue and pausing for a moment in the pit of your throat,
Between your collarbones,
Searching for a pulse there.
Then gently stroking the skin of your chest,
Feeling the weight and warmth of your hand if it's resting there.
Tracing the round contours of your breasts,
Perhaps pausing at the nipples and then gently guiding your awareness down to your belly,
Landing perhaps in your navel.
Maybe there's a remembrance of the pulsating life energy that once moved through this space in your body.
Maybe there's still a pulse to be felt behind your navel and then moving down towards your womb space and pubic area.
Maybe feeling the weight and warmth of your hand if it's resting there,
The pulsating energy beneath it.
Maybe you feel the same gentle pulsation in your genitals and pelvical floor as you rest your awareness there.
And maybe you can feel the rhythmic beat of life in your entire body.
Every cell dancing to the steady pulse.
Maybe feeling the movement of blood,
Lymph,
Of breath.
And from the outside it might look like you are completely still.
And maybe there are moments of stillness within the body as well.
Perhaps stillness in the pause between the breaths,
Maybe in other places.
And how does it feel to hold these two opposites together?
Stillness and movement.
Resting here now and still moving forward.
And then I wonder,
Does the feeling of contentment have a place in your body?
Does it have a home?
And at the same time you might detect the feeling of desire in your body.
Does it have a home there as well?
And can they exist at the same time,
Contentment and desire?
Maybe there is a desire to gently shift or move your body.
To adjust your position for more comfort.
In which case you can meet that desire.
Before gently landing with your awareness behind your closed eyes.
Looking out into the vast darkness behind your eyelids.
Noticing what you can see there.
And simply resting here behind your closed eyelids is more than enough.
But if you desire to look a little further into the spacious darkness.
You might find yourself at your favorite place in nature at night.
And if you look up you might find a starry night sky there.
With a silver full moon shining down at you.
And if you look down you might see a pair of bare feet.
And maybe you can sense what's beneath them.
Maybe moss,
Stone,
Grass,
Mud,
Earth,
Sand,
Water or something else.
If you look around you might notice that you are alone.
Or perhaps there's other people there or animals or something else.
Maybe there's a fire lighting up the darkness.
And maybe you'll notice the feeling of desire within your wild woman body.
Maybe you'd like to sing,
To laugh,
To dance or drum.
Maybe you'd like to howl at the moon.
Maybe you'd like to scream or cry or hit something.
Maybe fight.
Maybe you'd like to run as fast as you can.
Maybe you'd like to climb a tree or a rock.
Maybe you'd like to swim naked in the moonlight.
Maybe there's a desire for sex or self-pleasure.
Maybe you'd simply like to lay down and look up at the stars above.
This is your imagination and whatever you desire you are free to give that to yourself.
And then eventually gently landing back with your awareness in your heart space.
Maybe the feeling of longing or desire is still there,
Still present in your heart.
And you may like to keep it there.
Take a moment to listen in to the wisdom whispering from within your heart.
The wisdom of your inner wild woman.
And then let this sound gently call you back to earth.
Back to the space where you laid your body down to rest.
Back into your body.
It is time now to come back.
Come back.
Come back.
Come back.
Knowing that your inner wild woman is always there in your heart.
You carry her wisdom with you and her desires wherever you go.
Maybe you can remember the clothes you're wearing.
What colours they are.
The colour and furnishing around you in the room.
Maybe you can feel the air on your skin.
The taste in your mouth.
The sounds vibrating in your ears.
Maybe you'd like to draw bigger breaths.
Gently waking yourself up.
Maybe extending the movement into fingers and toes.
Maybe it would feel good to gently stroke your skin with your hands.
Your thighs,
Groins,
Hips,
Belly,
Chest.
Your shoulders,
Arms,
Hands.
Your neck.
Your face.
Maybe massaging your scalp.
Coming back.
Coming back.
This yoga nidra is now complete.
Thank you for listening.
