Hello,
Namaste and thank you for joining me today for the Sacred Sound journey,
The art of mantra chanting.
Today we will be learning to chant the Surya Mantra.
The Surya Mantra is a sacred chant dedicated to the Sun God Surya.
Chanting this mantra is believed to invoke the blessings and positive energies associated with the Sun.
These sounds are known as Beeja Aksharas or root sounds.
These particular Beeja Aksharas represent the power of the Sun and ask for this force to help us with illnesses and obstacles.
Let us understand the Beeja Mantras before we learn to chant them.
Listen in carefully to the pronunciation of each syllable.
All begin in the throat with an emphasis on H.
One can feel the force of the sound H in the lower abdomen.
Haram – This represents the energy of the Sun,
Particularly its creative and life-giving aspects.
Hareem – It is associated with the divine feminine energy,
Particularly the goddess Lalita Tripura Sundari.
It is considered a powerful mantra for invoking creativity,
Beauty,
And the nurturing aspects of the divine feminine.
Haraim – It is linked to the goddess Saraswati,
The embodiment of wisdom,
Knowledge,
And the arts.
Chanting Haraim is believed to enhance one's learning abilities,
Artistic talents,
And overall intellect.
Haraum – It is connected to Lord Narasimha,
An incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
Haraum is often used for protection and is associated with the fierce and protective aspects of the divine.
Hroom – It is associated with the creative and nurturing aspects of goddess Bhuvaneshwari.
Chanting this Beeja Mantra is considered a way to invoke her energy,
Seek blessings related to creativity,
Abundance,
And the harmonious expression of the material and spiritual realms.
Hraha – This seed syllable is associated with the transformative and annihilating aspects of the divine,
Particularly the goddess Kali.
Chanting Hraha is believed to invoke the power of destruction and regeneration.
Now let us chant this mantra slowly and then with variations.
Om Hraim Om Hraum Om Hraha Om Hraam Hreem Om Hreem Hroom Om Hraam Hreem Om Hreem Hraum Om Hraam Hraha Om Hraam Hreem Hroom Om Hreem Hroom Hraim Om Hroom Hraim Hraum Om Hraam Hraum Hraha Om Hraam Hreem Hroom Hraim Om Hreem Hroom Hraim Hraum Om Hroom Hraim Hraum Hraha Om Hraam Hreem Hroom Hraim Hraum Om Hreem Hroom Hraim Hraum Hraha Om Hraam Hreem Hroom Hraim Hraum Hraha This Beeja Mantra can also be chanted with Surya Namaskaras along with the rising sun to amplify its potency further.
I hope you have enjoyed this Surya Chant with me and look forward to hearing from you about your experiences.
A warm thank you for becoming a part of our mantra community.
