There once was a time when the heavens trembled.
The gods were wary,
The demons restless.
The balance between chaos and harmony fractured.
All turned to the ancient ocean,
The vast cosmic sea that held the essence of creation.
If peace was to return,
It would be born from its depths.
So,
With Mount Mandara as their churning god,
And Vasuki,
The great serpent,
As they wrote.
The gods and demons began the Samudra Manthan,
The churning of the ocean of milk.
Ages past in a single breath.
From the swirling waves rose poison,
Fire,
Divine beings and treasures lost to time.
But then the waters turned to gold.
A lotus bloomed on the surface and from its heart emerged Lakshmi.
Radiant,
Serene,
She carried no weapon.
She needed none.
Her presence alone stilled the storm.
Her gaze softened gods and demons alike.
She was the embodiment of abundance,
Not of coin or jewels,
But of joy,
Beauty and grace.
Where she stepped,
Lotus flowers bloomed.
Where she looked,
Balance returned.
And her message was simple,
Eternal.
Gratitude is the path to true wealth.
Close your eyes and imagine yourself walking slowly beside a pool of still water.
The surface is glass.
The air is rich with jasmine.
As you walk,
Lotus blossoms bloom underfoot,
One for every breath,
One for every heartbeat.
Ahead,
A soft golden light flickers.
You feel drawn.
Gently.
Deeper.
In the center of the pool.
There she sits,
Lakshmi.
Poised on an open lotus,
Hands extended in welcome.
The air glows.
You feel seen,
Safe.
Home.
She offers you a lotus blossom.
In its petals,
You begin to see moments of kindness,
Safety,
Quiet mornings,
Warm meals,
Lessons disguised as challenges.
Each petal is a memory.
A gift you may have forgotten.
She speaks not in words but in warmth.
Gratitude,
She says.
Is the light that reveals the treasure you already carry.
You feel it in your heart.
It responds like a flower unfolding.
Now place your hand over your heart.
Feel the golden light swirling beneath your palm,
Warm and steady.
With every inhale the light grows.
With every exhale,
It roots deeper.
Lakshmi smiles.
She fades into the golden glow.
But the lotus remains.
It is yours now.
Repeat softly in your mind or aloud.
I honour what I have and what I am becoming.
Each breath is a gift.
And each moment a blessing.
Gratitude flows through me and into the world.
I welcome abundance with a grateful heart.
Breathe.
Let the petals of that inner light unfold.
The path now reappears.
But something has changed.
The trees seem richer,
The air sweeter.
You carry something now.
A deep knowing.
You walk slowly back along the lotus lined path.
One final lotus blossoms beneath your step.
This one brighter than the rest.
In its heart,
A truth.
Gratitude doesn't just remember blessings.
It multiplies them.
When you are ready,
Take a deep breath.
Move your fingers gently.
And return to this moment.
Thank you for joining me in this sacred meditation with Lakshmi.
Her golden blessings of gratitude,
Beauty,
And divine abundance now shimmer gently within you.
