The English language has the largest vocabulary in the world, mainly because it takes on words from other languages. The main “influencers” on the English language are related to ancient immigration into England: Romans (Latin and Greek), Anglo-Saxons (Old English), Vikings (Norse), and Normans (French). Choosing words in writing generally requires one not to repeat words. If a powerful word though is used correctly, the repetition only adds to its strength as seen in this poem.
