Hello and welcome.
This is Mindful Meditations.
Thank you for joining me tonight as we journey down to a restful sleepy place.
Lie down,
Allowing the spine to be supported by whatever is beneath you.
Feeling the hug and support pressing against the spine.
As you soften through the brow bones,
Let the eyebrows widen and tune into your breath.
Notice the slow inhales and exhales.
With each exhale,
Your body becomes a little heavier,
Sinking a little deeper,
Feeling a little more supported,
Safe and calm.
I'd like you to imagine you're standing barefoot on the edge of a quiet beach.
It's evening and the sun is just beginning to set.
The sky above is painted in soft shades of orange,
Pink and violet.
The sand is still warm between your toes.
The air is soft and gentle as you feel the breeze brushing across your skin.
You hear the rhythmic sounds of waves lapping against the shore,
Inhaling in as the waves roll in.
As the exhale gently pulls the sea back and away with each wave,
Feel your thoughts washing away a little further out with the tide,
Allowing each breath to carry your worries out to sea as you relax,
Sinking into the soft warm sand.
The worries are carried farther and farther away with every breath.
Now we begin to slowly walk along the shoreline,
Letting the water kiss the tips of the toes,
Cool and refreshing.
You feel connected,
Relaxed and at ease.
As you walk,
You notice the ocean stretching endlessly in front of you,
A deep calming blue.
Its surface shimmering and sparkling under the last rays of sunlight.
The sound of the waves soothing and soft like a lullaby whispered by the earth herself.
After some walking,
You find a quiet place to sit by the water,
Maybe laying back in the warm soft sand as you let your body become still.
Simply listen,
Letting the rhythm of the ocean match the rhythm of the breath.
As you inhale,
A wave rolls in.
As you exhale,
It flows gently away.
Tilting your head back,
You notice the stars are beginning to appear above you,
One by one.
They light up the sky,
Twinkling peacefully.
The ocean continues its gentle song beside you,
Each wave a reminder you are safe,
You are calm.
You are held by the earth,
The sky and the sea.
Let go of any last thoughts.
No need to hold onto anything now.
There is nothing more you need to do.
Nowhere you need to be.
Just rest.
Let your breath become slower,
Deeper,
Softer.
Let sleep find you like the tide finding the shore,
Effortless,
Natural,
Peaceful.
You are floating now in the serene space between sky and sea,
Cradled by the ocean of your own breath.
Drifting,
Safe,
Deep in rest and deeper into sleep.
