Thought often arrives with authority,

It sounds certain,

It speaks quickly,

It presents conclusions as if they were facts.

This practice is about noticing how that authority is created.

Notice a thought that feels convincing,

Not dramatic,

Not extreme,

Just familiar.

Notice how easily it is believed,

Not because it is true,

But because it is known.

Authority does not come from accuracy,

It comes from repetition.

A thought repeated with sensation begins to feel unquestionable.

This is how authority forms.

This practice is not about arguing with thought,

And it is not about replacing it with something better.

It is about noticing that a thought is occurring,

That simple recognition changes the relationship.

Notice how the body responds when a thought is seen as an event.

There is often a softening,

A pause,

A small gap between thought and reaction.

When thought is observed,

Its authority weakens,

Not because it disappears,

But because it is no longer alone.

Awareness stands beside it.

This does not mean thought becomes useless.

It becomes optional.

Guidance instead of command.

Suggestion instead of order.

Notice how experience shifts when thought is allowed to pass without obedience.

Less urgency,

Less tightening,

More choice.

Authority returns to the present moment,

To sensation,

To awareness,

To what is actually happening.

Thought still appears,

But it no longer decides alone.

As this practice continues,

Let thoughts come and go.

Do not follow.

Do not resist.

Notice how authority fades when attention remains steady.

Let experience lead.
