And today we are going to learn how to breathe correctly.
Weird,
Isn't it?
We're breathing all the time,
So why do we need to learn how to breathe?
Is that a right or wrong way of breathing?
Yes,
Indeed.
And you'd be surprised to know that so many of us are not breathing the right way.
Not consciously,
Not deliberately.
But subconsciously.
And sins.
The breath is our life,
Our prana.
It is so important to know how to breathe the right way.
So I'd request you now.
To get comfortable wherever you're seated.
Lengthen your spine.
Roll your shoulders back.
Make sure your body is alert.
But not tense.
It's relaxed and alert and you're present with me.
And now.
I would request you.
To place a hand on your heart.
On your chest.
And another hand on your belly.
Preferably lower.
Just like I have.
And I would want to.
To observe the natural rhythm of your breath.
Without changing anything yet.
And as you become aware of your breathing pattern,
I would request you.
Deepen it.
To take longer belly breaths in and out.
And?
Deep exhales out.
And as you do this,
I would request you to notice.
When is your belly?
Moving out.
And when is it going in?
Is it on the exhale that the belly goes out?
Or is it on the inhale that it goes out?
Now imagine.
That your belly is like a balloon.
And as you blow into it,
You breathe into it.
It inflates.
As you breathe out of it.
It deflates.
That's how our breathing works as well.
So when you're taking a deep belly breath in,
The diaphragm or the stomach area.
Should be inflated.
And as you breathe out.

Idly.
Your stomach should go in.
Now don't worry and don't judge yourself.
In case you've not been doing this correctly.
We all know that we get better by practice.
You don't have to be perfect.
But whenever you catch yourself.

Breathing the wrong way.
Remember that your entire body is health.
Is dependent on this life-giving breath.
And you can practice daily.
Coming back to this breathing pattern.
So let's do this three more times.
The right way to breathe.
Let's begin.
I don't have to be noisy.
I'm just doing it for our benefit so that everybody gets to know.
How to breathe the right way.
And you can go back to your life.
And practice this and notice the difference in your state of mind.
You'll feel more regulated.
You'll feel more present.
And your overall health is going to get better.
