Welcome.
Today we'll spend a few minutes together practicing a simple yet powerful breathing technique known as box breathing,
Designed to steady your mind and gently relax your body.
Find a quiet,
Comfortable place where you can sit or lie down with ease.
When you're ready,
Softly close your eyes and begin to settle in.
Start by taking a slow,
Deep breath in through your nose.
And exhale gently through your mouth.
Feel your body beginning to unwind.
Take another deep breath in and release it slowly.
With every breath,
Allow yourself to sink a little deeper into relaxation.
Now we'll begin the breathing pattern.
This technique follows four equal parts.
Inhale,
Hold,
Exhale,
And hold again,
Each for a count of four.
Let's start by fully emptying our breath.
Now inhale slowly through your nose.
One,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Hold the breath,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Exhale gently through your mouth,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Hold again,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Continue this steady rhythm at your own pace.
Inhale,
Hold,
Exhale,
Hold.
Count to four,
In,
Count to four,
Hold,
Count to four,
Exhale,
Count to four,
Hold.
Let's do it together once again.
Inhale,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Hold,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Exhale,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Hold,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Continue.
Beautiful.
As you breathe in,
Imagine drawing in a sense of calm and ease.
As you pause,
Allow that calm to settle within you.
As you breathe out,
Release any tension or heaviness you may be carrying.
And in the stillness of the final pause,
Feel a quiet sense of balance.
If your mind begins to wander,
That's completely natural.
Simply notice the thoughts and gently guide your attention back to your breath and counting.
Stay with this pattern,
Breathing in for four,
Holding for four,
Breathing out for four,
And holding for four again.
Let the rhythm anchor you.
Feel your chest rise and fall.
Notice the coolness of the air as you inhale and the warmth as you exhale.
Allow yourself to be fully present in this moment of calm.
As we begin to close,
Take a moment to observe how you feel now.
Notice any sense of ease or quiet you've created within yourself.
Come back to your normal breathing.
And when you're ready,
Gently bring movement back into your body.
Wiggle your fingers,
Your toes.
Maybe stretch in a way that feels good.
Take one final deep breath in and slowly release it.
And when you feel ready,
Open your eyes,
Bringing this calm,
Steady energy with you into the rest of your day.
Remember,
You can return to this simple breathing practice any time you need a moment of balance and peace.
