Come, it is time to relax and let go of all of the things that have weighed you down today. This guided meditation will not only help you release any and all things that have weighed heavy on you today (anxiety, stress, fear, guilt, shame, anger, etc), it will also help you have a restful sleep. Best listened to at the end of the day, before bedtime. Relax to the light sounds of a fire crackling with soft thunder in the background to help ensure your comfort and relaxation.

Hello and welcome.

Please come rest.

It is time to relax and let go of everything that has weighed you down today.

Let's get in a nice comfortable place and position,

Whether it be laying cozied up in your bed or sitting back in a comfortable reclining chair.

Now first things first,

It is very important that you not only know but also believe that you are beautiful,

Amazing and so strong.

Let's take a nice deep breath in through the nose,

Feeling your breath pass through your diaphragm and into the belly.

Hold this for 4,

3,

2,

1 and release through the mouth.

Feel your muscles beginning to relax.

Slowly close your eyes and take another deep breath into the belly.

Hold for 3,

2 and 1.

Now release.

As you release your breath,

Feel all tension withering away.

Starting at the top of your head,

Imagine a warm golden light.

As it touches your skin,

Your tension melts away.

Going down the eyebrow,

Where we tend to hold a lot of tension,

Feeling it melt away as you take another deep breath.

See this golden warm light go down your body,

Releasing your tension as it goes.

Relax the eyes,

Unclench your jaw,

Relax your shoulders,

Uncross your legs.

Allow your body to feel heavy sink into your bed.

Once you are fully relaxed,

I want you to picture a safe place for yourself.

It can be any place you'd like.

A forest clearing with beautiful flowers surrounding you.

A cozy cottage in front of a warming fire.

In a hammock on the shore while you listen to waves crashing onto the beach.

Whatever your heart wants.

Once you are in your safe place,

I want you to notice a large backpack next to you on the ground,

Sitting on top of a pile of rocks.

Upon closer inspection,

You realize the rocks each have a word inscribed on them.

These rocks represent everything that has weighed you down today.

Pick one up,

Look at it closely.

What does it say?

Allow that rock to be the moment that had been weighing on you so heavily.

Whether it is fear,

Guilt,

Anger,

Worry,

Sadness,

Doubt,

Shame.

Let this rock now hold it and then place it into the backpack.

Do this with every rock in the pile until the backpack is full.

Now it is time to release these thoughts,

These moments,

These memories that have been weighing you down today.

Pick up the backpack and put it on.

You notice the immense weight with all of the rocks now inside.

To your left,

You see a dirt path and you can hear running water not far off.

Although weary from carrying your heavy backpack,

You can't help but smile at the beautiful sight.

Now,

Set your backpack down next to you and open it,

Looking at all of the heavy rocks inside.

One by one,

Take each rock that represents each thing that has weighed on you and throw it into the rushing river.

Watch the waters effortlessly take your weight and let it go.

Do this with each and every rock.

You feel lighter and lighter and lighter still after each rock the ripper graciously takes for you until there are no rocks left.

You feel a load lifted from you.

You can breathe easier and you have a warm smile knowing that you are feeling better than you were just moments ago.

It's important to know and understand that no matter the amount of weight we take on each day,

We can always let it go.

Allow yourself to let it go.

Now,

I'd like for you to remember something that brought you joy today,

Made you laugh,

Made you smile,

Made you excited,

Made you happy.

Allow that feeling engulf you,

Embrace you like a warm hug.

Let it spread from your heart out through your arms to your fingertips,

Down your legs,

Down to the feet.

Allow your body to memorize this feeling of this emotion of joy and happiness.

You did wonderfully.

It's time to let yourself rest.

I promise you'll feel better in the morning.
