This exercise will help you slow down.
So it's something how we can be spinning on the inside,
But so exhausted.
We can be moving through time and space at a rhythm that is just not matching how we really feel,
Which is completely exhausted and needing rest.
And even though we need that,
Doesn't mean it's easy to do.
You know,
We're used to getting things done,
Quickly and at the pace that's expected of us.
So I invite you to do this exercise with me.
It will help.
So what you'll need is 15 minutes of uninterrupted time and space to lie on the floor.
It is different than lying on the bed.
If you do this,
You'll know what I mean and let me know,
But it is different.
So space to lie on the floor with a pillow and a blanket for comfort.
Go ahead and let yourself get settled.
With your blanket and pillow.
Preparing to lie down on your back.
Once you're lying down on your back,
Give yourself permission to shift and adjust.
And notice how you feel.
Whatever you notice is fine.
Continuing to let your body settle in this position.
Notice the floor meeting your body.
Notice your body.
Making contact with the floor.
Notice the full length of your back body.
You from the top of your head.
To the bottoms of your feet.
Imagine you can feel your breath.
Along the whole length of your body.
Notice where your body is touching the floor.
And notice the parts.
Where there's space.
Between you and the floor.
Notice the varying amount of pressure.
Along your back body.
Noticing what it's like.
To be lying here on the floor.
Feeling along.
Your back body.
On your next breath.
Turn to your right side.
So that the right side of your body is now making contact with the floor.
Let yourself settle here and get comfortable.
Notice what it's like.
For your right side.
To meet the floor.
In for the floor.
To meet your right side.
Notice whatever you notice.
Down the full length of your body.
From the top.
Of your head.
To the bottom of your feet.
Noticing your right side.
Notice the parts that are touching the floor.
And the parts along your right side.
Where there's space.
Between your body and mind.
And the floor.
Remembering to breathe.
On your next breath.
Go ahead and turn.
To your left side.
Take your time to get comfortable.
On your left side.
Noticing what it's like to be on this side now.
Noticing what it's like.
For your left side.
To be making contact.
With the floor.
Noticing the varying amounts of pressure.
Along your left side.
And noticing where your body is.
Is making contact.
With the floor.
Feeling your breath.
Along your entire left side.
From your head.
To your feet.
On your next breath.
Go ahead and turn.
So that you're lying on your stomach,
Your front body.
Taking a moment to get comfortable.
In this position.
Giving yourself to move and shift.
Giving yourself permission.
To move and shift.
Letting yourself settle now.
Bringing awareness in.
To your front body.
Feeling your breath.
Down the whole length.
Of your body.
From the top of your head.
To the bottom of your feet.
Feeling the varying amount of pressure.
Along your front body.
Noticing… the places.
Where your body is.
Is making contact.
With the floor.
And the parts of your body.
Where there is a bit of space.
Between you.
And the floor.
Taking a moment to feel.
What it's like.
To be lying here.
On your front body.
On your next breath.
Go ahead and gently.
Rise up.
To a seated position.
Noticing what it's like.
To go from lying to sitting.
And just notice.
How you're feeling now.
Notice if there's any difference.
And how you're feeling now.
Thank yourself.
Thank your body.
Thank you.
