These next 5 minutes are entirely yours,

There is nowhere else to be,

Nothing else to do but just to take 5 precious peaceful minutes to yourself,

With no demands,

No to-do lists,

Just breath and a willingness to be in this present peaceful moment.

I once read a quote that said,

Peace does not mean being in a place where there is no chaos or hard work,

It means being in the midst of those things and still finding calm in your heart.

What does peace mean to you?

What is peace?

In a world so fast-paced,

So busy,

So full,

So seemingly hostile,

How can we create peace for ourselves,

That tiny slice of peace that we crave in our busy,

Busy lives?

Is peace quiet?

Is it kind?

Is it slow?

Is it calm?

Is peace taking a break?

Can you take a break?

With your eyes closed,

Away from the noise and the busyness,

The chaos and stimulation,

Can you take a break?

Behind your eyes,

Can you soften,

Soften your jaw,

Relax your brow and drop your shoulders?

Allow tension to melt from your face,

Keeping your eyes closed gently.

You are safe here.

You are safe here.

Your eyes are like a blanket wrapping you up in peaceful safety.

Peace to me is safety.

The safety creates the calm and connects you to your heart.

It centers you and pulls you back into the gratefulness of being still and being kind.

Peace is quiet,

Is kind,

Is slow,

Is warm and it is calm.

But above all,

It is safe.

It is not the endless demands,

It is surrender and trust that for just 5 minutes I can stop,

I can pause and I can close my eyes where I am safe.

I am safe here in my body,

With my breath behind the comfort of my gently closed eyes.

I am peaceful and my heart is calm.

Peace does not mean being in a place where there is no chaos and hard work,
