This resonated deeply. I’ve struggled with this after our son was born, 5th child in a blended family. I just remember losing all hope and enjoyment towards life, resentment towards everyone and anyone who needed me, but could do it themselves (codependent) I started really diving into working on myself 370 days ago today and shifted out of that people pleasing mentality and made people be accountable for themselves and their actions because I just couldn’t do it anymore and my burnout gave me the “guts” to stand up to everyone in my life and stop them from taking full advantage of my codependency, and my inability to say no because I felt I’d I didn’t do it, no one would, and they wouldn’t. Today, a new Phoenix has risen. I am not those things anymore, and while I’m still very tired, I’m listening to my body and burnout. I finally returned to painting after all this time, and I’m slowly coming back to more activities with the children, but it still feels like a lot, so I’ve been recruiting good help and getting balance back into my life. You can’t expect anyone to give it back, you have to take it or people will notice ave they will take advantage of it so they can have an easy ride and I’m left with all the responsibilities. Because of work like this and recognition towards burnout recovery, I’m able to protect myself better and show up a little more prepared each day. Open to anything good coming in, and awake and aware enough to let the negative things go right past me like I’m dodging leaves in the river, they gently come my way, I step out of its path with grace and little effort. Keep up this work!!! It’s important! 🙏🏻🥰
