Hello and welcome to this 10-minute gratitude meditation.
Start by getting yourself nice and comfortable and gently close your eyes and then just begin with a few deep breaths.
Breathe in through your nose if you can and exhale through your mouth.
Nice deep belly breaths at your own pace.
Breathing in deep,
Breathing out long and slow and as you breathe out allow your body to relax a little bit more.
One more deep breath,
Full lungs and breathe it all out nice and long and slow.
Good,
Now please just relax and you can breathe normally.
So why gratitude?
Well gratitude has the power to improve our mood and just make us feel a bit better.
It can lower our stress levels and help to attract good things and good people to us.
It can even improve our health and make us live longer.
So what's not to love about gratitude?
But maybe you're not feeling very grateful right now and that's perfectly okay.
So I'll just begin with a few ideas to get us started.
You can just listen and if any of them begin to feel good then why not repeat them out loud or as a whisper or silently in your mind.
And as we repeat them we'll gradually let the feeling of thankfulness grow within us.
Let's begin.
Thank you for this day and the opportunities it brings.

And now a few simple questions to help guide your personal gratitude.
Can you think of someone who brought you joy recently or simply made you smile?
Take a moment to think of someone and then quietly say thank you for that person and reflect for a moment on the gratitude that you feel for them.
And now bring to mind a recent experience that made you happy or brought you some peace.
Take a moment to remember it,
Say thank you for it and savor the gratitude you feel for that experience.
And now consider how you spend a lot of your day,
Whether it's your job or the work you do at home or your leisure time.
It can be anything.
Find a piece of the way you spend your time that you're thankful for and think about that for a moment.
Say thank you and begin to feel gratitude for it.
And finally let your mind wander to one more part of your life where you feel gratitude.
It could be something as simple as your morning coffee,
A friend you enjoy chatting with or the comfort of your home.
Whatever comes to mind,
Take a few moments to say thank you and to really feel the gratitude in your heart.
And as we bring this meditation to a close,
Take another deep breath filled with gratitude for this moment,
For the ability to pause and reflect and for the endless gifts in our lives.
And then take this sense of thankfulness with you,
Letting it warm your heart each moment of your day.
Thank you,
I'm grateful for you and I'm sending you peace,
I'm sending you love and I'm sending you happiness for the rest of your day.
