Welcome to this meditation for deep relaxation.
Find a comfortable seat.
Close your eyes.
Allow yourself to settle in.
Place your left hand on your heart.
Your right hand just above your navel as you begin to become aware of your breath.
Every inhale and every exhale.
Notice the gentle rise and fall of your body as your breath flows all the way from the tip of your nose to the pit of your stomach.
Not trying to change anything here.
Allowing your breath to flow at its own comfortable pace.
Finding its own rhythm.
Paying attention to every inhale and every exhale.
Slowly and gently.
Already you are beginning to drift into a state of deep relaxation.
As you continue to breath at your own comfortable pace.
Allowing yourself to drift.
Becoming aware of the crown of your head.
Noticing any sensations here.
Allowing this feeling of relaxation to spread down from the crown of your head.
Let the muscles in your forehead soften.
Releasing any tension.
Allow your eyes and eyelids to relax.
Let your cheeks and jaw soften.
You feel at peace.
That feeling of peace flows down your neck and deep into the muscles in your shoulders.
Soothing and releasing them.
Allow this peaceful feeling to flow through your arms.
Relaxing and soothing all the way to the tips of your fingers.
Continuing to breath at your own comfortable pace.
Inhaling and exhaling.
Slowly and gently.
As your body relaxes.
Your mind relaxes too.
Your thoughts become weightless as they pass by without a care.
Any clouds in the sky.
You feel at peace.
This feeling of peace flows through your chest.
Down into your stomach.
Again noticing the gentle rise and fall of your body.
With every inhale and every exhale.
Slowly and deeply soothing and relaxing.
Draw your attention to the whole of your back.
That deeply relaxing sensation flows all the way down your spine.
Feelings of peace flow down through your lower body.
Relaxing the back of your thighs.
And the front of your thighs.
As your muscles here become loose and relaxed.
These soothing feelings flow down through your knees.
And into your calves.
The whole of your lower legs.
Your ankles relax.
Your feet relax.
Your entire body is soft.
Calm and relaxed.
Continuing to breathe at your own comfortable pace.
Exhaling and exhaling.
You are at peace.
Leaving the external world behind.
Draw your attention deep within.
To a space of inner stillness.
Where nothing but your soul exists.
You drift in this infinite space of inner stillness.
You are at peace.
This is your peace.
And this is your space.
That you can return to anytime you choose.
Whatever resides within you.
I invite you to continue to sit in peace and stillness.
Breathing gently,
Slowly,
For as long as you like.
And then when you feel ready,
You can take a deep breath and open your eyes.
Breathing in and out.
