Hello,
This is Karuna.
Today's reflection is what it means to walk for peace.
I invite you now to just take a moment and arrive here to this place to this time.
You might notice your feet on the floor,
Or what is supporting you where you sit or lie down.
If it feels comfortable,
Go ahead and close your eyes and take a breath in and out.
And in.
And one more breath in.
What it means to walk for peace.
Often we think of peace as something that will reach someday,
When things settle down,
Or when the world changes,
Or when we feel different.
But peace doesn't usually arrive in that way.
It doesn't usually arrive all at once.
More often,
It's practiced,
Step by step,
Moment by moment,
Breath by breath.
To walk for peace doesn't mean that we feel calm all the time.
It means we choose again,
And again,
To meet each moment with as much presence and kindness as we can.
Even when we're tired.
Even when we're uncertain.
Even when we're overwhelmed,
Especially then.
If you'd like,
I invite you to imagine that today after our time together,
Your next few steps are part of this walk.
Each step and intention.
Each step,
A quiet commitment to peace within yourself and within the world.
Nothing dramatic,
Just sincere.
Go ahead and take another breath.
And one more.
And one final breath.
And as you go into your day,
Or into this next part of your day,
Just remember,
The walk for peace is one moment at a time.
May you be well.
May you be happy.
And may you be at peace.
