Let's begin by settling into a comfortable seated position.
Feel the support beneath you.
Whether it's chair,
Cushion,
Or the earth itself.
Allow your spine to be upright but not rigid.
Let your hands rest gently on your knees.
And when you feel ready,
Close your eyes and allow yourself to arrive fully into this moment.
Start by becoming aware of your breath.
Without trying to change it.
Simply notice the flow of air moving in and out of your body notice the rising and falling of your chest and abdomen with each inhale and exhale Let the breath anchor you into the present moment.
Guiding you into a state of alert relaxation.
Now,
In this stillness,
I invite you to bring to mind the image of a mountain Visualize this mountain standing tall in all its majesty.
Perhaps it is a mountain you know well,
Or maybe it's one you're imagining for the first time.
Notice its steep slopes,
The solid base rooted deep into the earth and the peak rising high into the sky.
This mountain endures the passing of days,
Seasons,
And years.
It stands strong through storms,
Winds,
And the quiet calm of clear days.
Just as this mountain remains unmoved,
Allow yourself to feel the same sense of steadiness within.
You are this mountain.
Rooted,
Centered and fully present.
Begin to explore what it means to embody the mountain's qualities.
The mountain is unwavering no matter what happens around it.
There might be sunshine one moment and rain the next.
Seasons change from the warmth of summer to the cold winds of winter.
Yet through it all,
The mountain remains grounded,
Stable,
And dignified.
Some may admire the majestic beauty of this mountain.
For some,
It can be just an obstacle on their journey.
Some may come on a cloudy day and remain disappointed as they can't see the mountain properly.
The mountain does not care.
Seen or unseen,
Admired or ignored,
The mountain remains the same.
Now feel into your own body.
Like the mountain,
You have a solid foundation,
A deep-rooted sense of presence that remains steady no matter what thoughts,
Emotions or sensations arise.
Notice any thoughts that come and go,
Like clouds passing through the sky.
Notice any emotions whether they feel stormy or calm,
Moving through like changing weather.
All of these experiences come and go,
But like the mountain,
You remain still at your core observing without reacting.
As you continue to breathe,
Allow yourself to rest in this awareness.
Notice how your inner mountain remains unaffected by external conditions.
Whether the weather is clear or stormy,
Whether life feels easy or challenging.
The mountain remains its deep sense of presence,
Centered in stillness and strength.
In this space of stillness,
Recognize that you too can cultivate this unshakable calm in the face of life's ups and downs.
The mountain teaches us that true resilience comes not from resisting change,
But from remaining fully present in the midst of it.
As this meditation comes to a close,
Gently bring your awareness back to the room.
Feel the support beneath you.
Notice the sensation of your breath,
The air on your skin.
The sounds around you.
And when you are ready,
Slowly open your eyes.
Bringing this sense of grounded calm with you.
Take a moment to notice the strength,
Stillness and unwavering presence within you.
Like the mountain that stands through all seasons of life.
Carry this stability with you as you move back into your day,
Knowing that you can return to it whatever you need.
