Turtle shores.
These planet meditations are designed for you to sit with the beautiful elements and life in all its glorious creation on our earth as you quiet yourself to be here right now.
They can be used to return you to your sense of oneness with the whole planet or you could simply enjoy them and relax.
I hope you can use them in a way that resonates for you.
I invite you to take a couple of full breaths,
Letting the air out slowly and bringing your attention to your breath,
To the inflow and outflow of your breath as you gently close your eyes and beginning now to notice any sensations you can feel in your body.
Beginning to notice how it feels for you in this moment.
What sensations might you notice in your body right here,
Right now?
Bringing your attention to your body and gently scanning slowly down as you breathe from your head,
Neck,
Shoulders,
Chest,
Back,
Tummy,
Hips,
Thighs,
Calves and finally feeling into your feet,
Noticing the sensations in your feet and in your toes.
Perhaps your toes are touching or maybe they're apart.
Whatever you notice,
Just becoming aware of these sensations with a sense of gentle curiosity,
Nothing to do about them,
Simply becoming aware of the sensations in your body,
Bringing your focus into your body and into the sensations you may feel.
Perhaps you can sense some tingling or maybe numbness.
Maybe there's a sense of tightness somewhere in your body,
Just breathing in and out and allowing all sensations to just be,
Bringing this kind curiosity to all you might feel.
Sensing where your body makes contact with the surface supporting you,
Perhaps your heels or calves or shoulder blades pressing into the floor,
Whatever you sense,
Just noticing and letting be.
And now bringing your awareness up through your body and into your lungs,
Noticing the feeling of the air entering and leaving your lungs now.
Breathing in and out,
Noticing perhaps the movement of your body as it fills with air and the movement as the air leaves again.
Maybe you can even notice the pause,
The pause on the in-breath just before you let the air in and the pause on the out-breath just as you draw new air in,
Simply bringing awareness to your breath and your own natural ebb and flow.
Maybe noticing that your body knows what to do in every moment and with each breath,
Moment by moment,
Minute by minute,
Day by day.
And now bringing your awareness to the sensation of your breath on your face,
Maybe noticing the sensations on your cheeks or just below your nose or over your chin as you breathe in.
And as you breathe out,
What's the temperature of the air like on your face?
Is it warm or cool?
Perhaps noticing any difference when you let the air go and when you take in a breath.
And however it is for you right now,
Just noticing with kind curiosity,
With nothing to do or change,
Nothing to decide,
No rights or wrongs,
Just lying here,
Supported by the surface on which you rest.
Nothing naturally and noticing what's happening for you in this moment.
And now bringing your awareness to any thoughts which may be arising.
No need to push them away,
Just let them arrive and leave again.
As you rest here,
Gently returning your attention to your breath,
To breathing into the body.
And now bringing into your mind's eye the image of a vast sandy beach.
Maybe it's one you know or one you may have seen on film or maybe it's a beach of your imagination and focusing more closely now on your beach,
Perhaps the shape of the land behind and seeing the shape of the waves as they tumble upon your shore.
Hearing the sounds and now seeing that as you look at your vast sandy beach and the water and the shoreline that something is moving down towards the shore.
And as you look closely,
You see a line of tiny turtles crawling with determination one by one,
Not noticing their surroundings only focused on the call of the water into which they fall.
And as you lie here breathing,
Feeling as the small turtles,
Feeling the courage and focus they have as they approach their unknown ocean.
Breathing here now yourself supported by the surface holding you,
Maybe smiling,
Feeling your life,
Your breath,
Sharing the same air each day that they breathe.
And becoming aware as you see them now of their certainty,
Their calm focused journey,
Scuffling over the hot sand minute by minute conquering their seashore,
Their obstacles as they resolutely march on towards their watery new home.
And seeing that in your own life as these tiny creatures can be,
Bringing courage,
Acceptance,
Awareness to each minute of your day,
Allowing any obstacles,
Bringing patience and clarity.
And finding the next step until,
Like the turtles entering their ocean,
The vastness of your life surrounds you and you gently enter your new places,
Unknown ways,
With courage,
With clarity,
With the confidence in your own beautiful strength.
So breathing here now and letting yourself come away from the turtle shores,
Seeing them in the distance,
Continuing on into their new life and feeling yourself breathing here now in your own strong body.
Focusing fully onto your breath once more,
Onto the in breath and the out breath and simply bringing your full awareness to this moment right now.
Noticing your breath,
Breathing in and out in your own natural rhythm,
Filling your lungs with a fresh breath,
A new breath in each and every moment.
When you hear the chime,
Gently opening your eyes,
Wriggling your fingers and toes and taking a stretch in whatever way feels right for you,
Perhaps a smile.
May the courage and calm,
Steady focus of the turtles be with you this week.
Blessings.
