Hello,
I'm Jordan Keehan,
And I am so glad that you're here.
This is a meditation designed to help your nervous system to do something it already knows how to do.
Come back to itself.
And I want you to know that just being here,
Just by pressing play,
You've already done something important.
You chose this,
And that matters.
Calming your nervous system is one of the most genuinely useful things you can do for your life.
It's not a luxury and it's not a treat.
It's a foundation.
Because when your nervous system settles,
Everything else has room to shift.
Your health,
Your clarity,
Your relationships,
Your sense of what's possible,
Even your connection to something larger than yourself.
Whether you call that God,
The universe,
Or simply the intelligence that moves through all of life.
Your nervous system is a communication channel.
When it's chronically activated,
That channel gets noisy.
When it settles,
When you drop into the parasympathetic rest and receive state.
You become available once again to your body,
To your life,
To whatever is trying to reach you.
So let's begin.
Bring your mind to something you genuinely love.
A person,
A place,
A memory,
Something real that actually moves you.
And hold it lightly.
Now.
Turn your attention inward.
And let yourself arrive here.
Take a slow,
Full inhale.
Really fill your lungs and then a long exhale.
As you release.
Let something go with it.
Not just the tension of today.
But whatever you've been quietly carrying for days,
Weeks,
Maybe years.
Let the exhale do something.
Feel it as it's softening and a slight easing into your body can ensue,
A sort of weight beginning to lift.
You don't have to do anything right now.
There's no effort required here.
Just receive.
Here's what I want you to understand about this work.
Calming your nervous system.
Isn't about forcing yourself into relaxation.
It's about releasing your grip on the stress patterns,
The worry loops,
The tension you've been holding without even realizing it.
The nervous system knows how to return to baseline.
It's always moving towards it.
What we're doing here is simply getting out of the way.
Even as you listen to these words right now.
That process is already happening.
Your system is already beginning to settle.
Abundance,
Joy,
Connection.
These aren't things you have to chase down,
Nor earn.
They arise naturally when your nervous system has the space to land.
This is where healing happens.
This is where life opens up.
So take another full inhale.
And a slow,
Complete exhale.
Feel the rhythm of your breath.
Unhurried.
Study.
Beginning to settle your body and quiet your mind.
Now.
Gently bring your awareness into your physical body.
You live inside something extraordinary,
An intelligent,
Responsive organism that is doing thousands of things right now without you having to think about any of them.
So just take a moment to appreciate this.
Bring your awareness.
To your left hand.
And feel it.
Then to your right hand.
Your arms,
Your shoulders.
Your upper back.
Take a breath here.
Now move your awareness down.
Through your torso.
Into your pelvis,
Your hips,
Down through your legs,
And all the way to your feet.
Just notice warmth.
Tingling heaviness stillness Whatever is present is welcome.
You're not just trying to change anything.
You're just here.
The simple act of placing your awareness on your body has already moved your attention away from the thoughts and away from the stories that activate your stress response.
Your nervous system is responding to this right now in this moment.
So rest here.
Let yourself feel genuine appreciation for this body,
For its intelligence,
Its resilience.
For the simple fact that you are alive.
Inside it.
Now let's come back to that thing you love.
Let it be vivid.
Why does it matter to you?
What does it stir?
Notice what happens in your body as you hold it.
Warmth in your chest perhaps,
A softening,
A quiet sense of joy or tenderness or gratitude,
Whatever it is.
Let it move through you.
Don't manage it.
Just let it expand.
This is not a small thing.
When you genuinely rest in warmth or appreciation,
Really feel it,
Not just think it.
Your nervous system recalibrates.
Your body chemistry shifts.
Your heart rhythm becomes more coherent.
And from that coherence.
You become more available.
Everything good that is trying to reach you.
So inhale slowly and as you exhale let those feelings settle deeply into your body.
And let them land.
Life is simpler than a stressed nervous system makes it feel.
In moments of stillness just like this,
Things resolve.
Clarity comes.
The right ideas surface.
And the right doors open.
Not because you pushed harder.
But because you got quiet enough to receive.
Think of your nervous system as an antenna,
Always receiving and always transmitting.
With each inhale,
You are tuning that antenna towards peace,
Towards abundance,
Towards love.
With each exhale,
You are releasing the static,
The interference,
The residue.
That has been distorting that signal.
And every time you return to this place,
After a hard day,
After a moment of activation,
Afterlife does what life does.
You are building something real.
You are strengthening the neutral and neural pathways of regulation.
You are teaching your body at a cellular level.
What safety feels like.
This is a practice,
And like any practice,
It compounds.
So the more you return here.
The more readily available the state becomes.
So take a moment to genuinely appreciate yourself for being here.
Not everyone takes this time.
But you did.
And in doing so,
You already are actively rewiring the patterns that have kept your nervous system in overdrive,
Moving towards the version of yourself who lives from a place of peace,
Presence,
And real power.
Now let's go a little deeper.
Expand your awareness outward.
Imagine a warm,
Steady light at the center of your chest.
Your own natural radiance.
Not something you have to generate.
Something that's already here.
With each inhale.
Let it grow a little brighter.
And with each exhale.
Let it spread.
Beyond the boundary of your body.
Into the space around you.
This is your natural state.
Expansive,
Open,
Connected.
Feel the ground beneath you,
The earth holding you completely.
You don't have to support yourself right now.
Let yourself be held.
And with your next breath.
Let your awareness open upward.
Connecting you to something larger.
A field of intelligence that underlies all of life.
You are held between these two forces right now,
Grounded below and open above.
This is the nervous system in its most natural and coherent state.
Notice how this calm will move with you when you leave this space.
A regulated nervous system changes everything at the edges.
A conversation that might have escalated doesn't.
A problem you've been circling resolves more cleanly.
An opportunity you would have missed becomes visible.
Even ordinary moments,
Making food,
Stepping outside,
Driving somewhere.
Carry a different quality when you're not braced against life.
Small moments of peace accumulate.
They become your baseline.
They become who you are.
Breathe that in.
Gently return your awareness to your body.
Your hands,
Your arms,
Your shoulders,
And your back.
Notice how you feel.
Now.
In comparison to when we began.
Even something subtle.
A slight ease,
A softness,
A sense of something having released.
That is real.
That is your nervous system doing exactly what it knows how to do.
Thank you for choosing yourself.
And for choosing this.
One last full inhale.
Filling your lungs completely.
And a long,
Slow exhale.
Releasing whatever remains,
Any tension,
Any residue,
Anything that you no longer need to carry.
This piece is not something that I gave you.
It was already here.
It lives in you.
It's your natural state and no matter.
What is happening in your external world,
You can always find your way back to it.
When you're ready,
Slowly open your eyes.
Take in the space around you.
With fresh presence.
And thank you for letting me be here with you today.
I love you and I wish you a truly peaceful day.
