Welcome to a three-minute practice of using the breath to calm and soothe yourself.
So first of all,
Making yourself comfortable.
Rolling your shoulders down,
Loosening any tension in the jaw.
Closing your eyes if that feels okay.
And putting your hand on your tummy or on your chest.
Feeling the natural flow of breathing.
And as best you can resting your attention there.
Breathing in,
Breathing out.
Letting go into the natural rhythm.
You don't need to change it.
And then next time you breathe out just saying to yourself relax Breathing in.
And out,
Relax.
You can add your name if you want as you say this to yourself.
Breathe in.
Out and relax.
Breathing in.
Out and relax.
Noticing if the body is perhaps relaxing a little bit on an out-breath.
Everything in.
Out and relax.
Breathing in.
Out and relax Breathing in.
Out and relax.
Noticing if there are any areas of tension or knottedness in your body,
You might be able to just release by breathing out through them,
Perhaps your shoulders or your jaw,
Your belly,
Anywhere else.
Breathing in.
And and relax Breathing in.
Out and relax.
Let's continue with that for a few moments.
Breathing in,
Out,
And relax.
And then as you open your eyes,
Start to move a little bit,
Coming back to the rest of your day.
Seeing if you can bring the attention to breathing as a way of soothing and calming yourself.
