Transcript

Welcome to this guided meditation where we will explore themes of transformation and renewal through the imagery of butterflies.

Please find a comfortable place to sit or lie down,

Ensuring that you are relaxed and free from distractions.

If sitting,

Make sure your back is straight but not rigid.

Place your hands gently in your lap.

If laying down,

Feel free to place a cushion under your head or your knees and place your hands either gently on your sides or with one hand on your chest and one on your belly.

If it feels available to you,

I invite you to close your eyes or to let your eyes soften and your gaze rest on a neutral point.

Now take a few deep breaths,

Inhaling deeply through your nose and exhaling slowly through your mouth.

Notice the temperature of the air and after a few deep breaths,

Allow your breathing to settle into a natural rhythm.

Let's begin by becoming aware of your body.

Feel the surface beneath you supporting your weight.

Notice any areas of tension or discomfort and gently soften and release them with each exhale.

Imagine a warm soothing light starting at the top of your head,

Slowly spreading down through your body,

Relaxing each muscle it touches.

Feel this light travel down your forehead,

Your eyes,

Your cheeks and your jaw.

Let it flow down your neck and shoulders,

Easing any tension there.

Allow it to continue down your arms,

Your chest,

Your abdomen,

To your legs and finally to your feet.

Allow the light to extend past your body and ground you in the stillness of the earth.

Now imagine yourself standing at a beautiful abundant garden.

The air is fresh and filled with fragrance of blooming flowers.

You hear the gentle rustling of leaves and the distant sound of a flowing stream.

This garden is a sanctuary,

A safe place of joy,

Peace and tranquility.

As you walk through the garden,

You notice a group of butterflies fluttering around a vibrant flower bed.

They move gracefully,

Their delicate wings catching the sunlight and creating a kaleidoscope of colors.

You feel drawn to them.

Their presence is calming and uplifting.

You approach them and they welcome you.

You find a comfortable spot to sit near the flowers and focus your attention on one butterfly.

Observe its beauty,

The intricate patterns on its wings,

Its color and shape and the way it moves so effortlessly.

Reflect on the journey this butterfly has taken,

From a tiny egg to a caterpillar,

Then completely broken down in a chrysalis and finally emerging as this magnificent creature.

Allow yourself to feel a sense of connection to this butterfly.

Just as it has transformed,

So too can you embrace change and transformation in your life.

Think of a change or transformation you wish to experience,

Or it could be the one you are currently experiencing in your life.

Visualize this change.

What does it look like?

What does it feel like in your body?

Now visualize yourself wrapped in a chrysalis and you emerge as a beautiful butterfly.

This change is now a part of who you are.

Take a moment to imagine yourself as this butterfly.

Feel the lightness of your body and in your spirit.

Feel the freedom of your wings.

You are free to explore this garden,

To discover new flowers and to embrace the beauty of your surroundings.

Allow yourself to feel a sense of joy and liberation,

Knowing that transformation brings growth and new beginnings.

As you continue to explore the garden as a butterfly,

Breathe gently and repeat the following affirmations silently or aloud.

I embrace transformation and growth in my life with lightness and joy.

I am open to new beginnings and opportunities that enrich my life.

I trust the process of change and the blessings it brings.

I am resilient and capable of overcoming challenges with grace and ease.

I welcome the beauty and freedom that comes with transformation.

When you are done exploring the garden,

You return to your place amongst the flowers.

You rest gently at peace with the transformation and change in your life.

You feel the warmth of the sun surround you and the joyful return of your human form.

You stand and stroll back through the garden with a sense of confidence in your ability to transform your life,

Knowing you carry the garden in your heart and can return to it whenever you need it.

You gently bring your awareness back to your breath.

You feel the rise and fall of your chest,

The sensation of the air entering and leaving your body.

You gradually bring your awareness back to the surface beneath you.

You're feeling supported and grounded.

Begin to wiggle your fingers and toes and gently stretch your body.

When you feel ready,

Slowly flutter your eyes open,

Bringing this sense of transformation,

Renewal and peace with you into the present moment.

Allow yourself a moment to sit quietly,

Reflecting on your experience.

Remember that like the butterfly,

You have the power to transform and embrace new beginnings.

Carry this sense of freedom and possibility with you throughout your day.

Thank you for joining me in this meditation.

May the light of the universe bless your path and may you find peace,

Growth and transformation in your journey.

All my love.

Namaste.

That was wonderful. I would have preferred that the affirmations be repeated. I really appreciated the suggestion to visualize myself as a butterfly in transition. Thank you for offering this magical and thought provoking meditation.
