This sweet little meditation is an invitation for you to get back in contact with a childhood version of you.
When we do inner child work.
What we're really doing is remembering early parts of ourselves that still very much exist within us.
They just might not be expressed in our adult lives in the same way that they used to.
This meditation is great for times where we feel like we've lost contact with what really brings us joy in life,
Or simply that we've stopped putting joy as a priority.
When we're children,
We had a different,
More direct relationship with joy.
We hadn't yet learned to talk ourselves out of it,
Or to decide that it wasn't useful,
Or earned,
Or productive.
We just felt pleasure.
And wherever we could,
We would express that joy in ways that were unique to us.
So without further ado,
Let's get started.
Start by getting into a position where you can relax as much as possible.
We're going to be daydreaming quite a lot in this one.
Give yourself a chance to settle.
And really relax into the music and the sounds of nature that you can hear.
Give yourself permission to take yourself to another place.
Scan your body to check in.
And just find a part of your body that feels really,
Really relaxed.
As if feeling the warmth of the sun on your skin through a window.
I want you to imagine that feeling of comfort spreading all over your body.
It just feels really,
Really relaxing and really good.
Let the vision in your mind's eye now get lighter and lighter.
Until it turns completely to white.
And I would like you to imagine.
In front of you now,
An archway.
However it appears.
And as I count down from 10,
You are going to approach and step through this archway.
Leaving everything from your day-to-day life on a temporary pause.
Are you ready?
10.
9.
8.
7.
Six.
Bye.
Cool.
Too.
And 1 through the archway.
Your feet meet green grass.
And you find yourself in the most luscious,
Beautiful meadow.
The sun has just begun to set.
Casting a golden light upon everything you see.
You see tiny.
Colourful flowers growing amidst the wild grass.
And fruit trees of all different types on rolling hills in the distance.
Whilst here,
You have the effortless sense that you could just spend endless time here.
Imagine your whole being relaxing.
And just melting into the beauty and the peace of this place.
It's time to say goodbye.
After a while,
You notice a tree that catches your eye.
And a small figure standing right under it.
You decide to have a closer look,
So you walk up to this tree.
And you are met with a younger version of yourself.
And just let your intuition guide you on the age of this version of you.
As your eyes meet theirs.
They light up with recognition.
And your childhood self comes closer to greet you.
Notice how you feel when you look at their face.
Allow anything you feel to just come up.
To be met.
To be held.
In this place of safety.
Now it's time for you and your childhood self to begin to travel together.
So I would like you to ask your child now.
To show you what brings you the most joy.
The most pleasure.
Ask your child to remind you of what truly lights you up from the inside out.
Ask them this question now.
Bye!
The childhood version of you smiles widely.
They take you by the hand.
And they lead you towards the tree.
Now on the countdown from five.
I'd like you both to place your free hands on the trunk of the tree.
From there.
.
.
You and your child will travel together.
On a journey.
Of remembering the boundless joy that you have the capacity to feel.
Are you ready?
5 4 and one.
Happy traveling.
Hello?

You Now it's time to slowly start coming back to your body.
So wherever you are,
I would like you to face your child.
And just say a nice goodbye for now.
Knowing really that the essence of your childhood self always lives within you anyway.
And you can come back to this meditation to journey again whenever you like.
Now you see that same archway from the start of your journey.
It appears right in front of you.
As you approach the arch.
You become very aware of the sensations in the soles of your feet.
And in the palms of your hands.
You take a few slow,
Intentional breaths.
In.
.
.
2.
.
.
3.
.
.
4.
.
.
Out.
.

And out.

.
.
3.
.
.
4.
.
.
Three,
Four.
And then you walk through the archway.
Eyes still closed.
You start to place an awareness of the physical space that you're in right now.
Yet,
Within you,
You still carry the essence of the spaces that you travelled to today.
The last thing that I would like you to do is to now imagine a pleasant,
Golden bubble of light.
Transmitting a sense of contentment and peace.
Now take a few more deep breaths.
Give your body a little wiggle.
And then when you're ready.
You can open your eyes.
Welcome back.
