What if I told you that you already live by myths every single day?
Not the myths of Zeus,
Odin or Brigid,
But the stories so deeply woven into modern life that you no longer notice them.
Wisdom,
Love,
Transformation,
And the darker part of ourselves that we often try to ignore.
Oh.
The stories changed,
But the human questions stayed exactly the same.
Who am I?
What is my purpose?
How do I find strength when life becomes difficult?
How do I let go of what no longer serves me?
How do I begin again?
These are not new questions.
Humans have been asking them for thousands of years.
Long before psychology gave us words like resilience,
Transformation,
And the shadow self,
Ancient cultures told stories about people who faced darkness,
Overcame challenges,
Met mysterious beings,
And returned changed.
These were never just stories to entertain,
They were maps.
A myth about a hero descending into the underworld.
Was not only about a journey through a strange and frightening place,
It was also about the moments in our own lives when we feel lost,
When something ends,
Or when we have met parts of ourselves we would rather avoid.
A story about a goddess of love was not only about romance.
It was about connection,
Beauty,
Creativity,
And the ability to open our hearts.
A tale about a warrior was not only about battle.
It was about courage,
Boundaries and standing strong when life asks us to.
This is why myths continue to appear everywhere today.
You can see them in the films we watch,
The books we read and the characters we admire,
And even the personal stories we tell ourselves.
We are naturally drawn to these patterns because something within us recognizes them.
Perhaps you have experienced your own underworld season.
A time of change?
Grief?
Uncertainty or deep inner growth.
Perhaps you have had moments where you have needed the courage of a warrior.
The wisdom of a wise elder.
Or the hope of someone beginning again.
Myths remind us that transformation is a part of being human.
They show us that darkness is not always something to fear.
Sometimes it is where we discover something important about ourselves.
Across cultures,
From the Celtic lands to ancient Egypt,
Greece,
India and the Norse worlds,
People looked to these stories to understand life's mysteries.
They were not simply worshipping distant figures from the past,
They were exploring what it means to be human.
And perhaps that is why these ancient stories still speak to us today.
Because beneath the different names,
Different cultures,
And different landscapes,
The themes remain familiar,
Like love,
Loss,
Courage.
Change.
Healing and hope.
In my meditations,
We'll step into the world of myth,
Not to escape reality,
But to see our own lives through a different lens.
You may discover a story that reflects something within you.
A symbol that offers guidance or perhaps simply a moment of stillness where you can reconnect with the deeper parts of yourself.
Because myths are not only stories from the past.
They are living reminders that every person carries their own story of transformation.
