The poem celebrates the power of imagination as a lifelong companion, delivering diverse messages that can both confuse and enlighten. It reflects on how our experiences and upbringing shape our imaginative faculties. Exploring the realms of the mind—the subconscious and conscious—it suggests the true key lies within oneself. Encouraging the collaboration of both hemispheres of the brain, it champions the act of "imaginating" for a promising future. It emphasizes the importance of investing in oneself and the responsibility in shaping the messages sent out to the world through the lens of imagination.

Imagination Imagination,

Imagination,

My trusted old friend.

You often surprise me with the messages you send.

Sometimes you confuse me,

Sometimes enlighten.

Very often so direct,

You can sometimes even frighten.

You send me messages of hope and messages of joy.

Some of them remind me of when I was a boy.

They say the template was made in our formative years.

The causes,

Genes,

Environment and family,

At least that's how it appears.

There are bits from here and bits from there,

Or so it is we get told.

So much more to learn before we go getting old.

There's the right brain,

The left brain,

Subconscious,

Conscious too.

The real secret to all of this lives deep inside of you.

They say there is always time and that it is never too late.

So let both minds work together and start to imagine.

Imaginating a great future is without doubt your own birthright.

So begin to invest in you as you sleep and dream tonight.

It's not the end,

Only the beginning.

So be careful with the messages you send.

And look out there on the right side and meet imagination,

My old friend.
