Hey,
This is Gina Legge and thanks so much for joining this guided meditation.
And just a little reminder,
This practice is not a replacement for professional care or treatment,
And please avoid listening while driving or operating heavy machinery.
This guided meditation is about self-love.
Take a moment to find a comfortable position,
Whether sitting or lying down,
And allow your hands and arms to rest gently.
Close your eyes if you feel comfortable.
Take a full breath in and breathe out,
And remind yourself that you're safe right now.
Relax all your muscles and feel your body being supported by whatever you're sitting on or whatever you're laying on Notice your breath,
If that feels comfortable.
And with each exhale,
Imagine releasing anything you don't need to carry right now,
Whether it's self-judgment,
Self-evaluation,
Tension,
Perfectionism.
Let it all drift away right now and let go of it.
Because we're going to focus on what I call selfless esteem,
In which we focus less on ourselves,
And paradoxically become a better version of ourselves.
So instead of being on the roller coaster of feeling good about ourselves one minute and then not so good about ourselves,
We're going to focus on loving ourselves unconditionally.
Because you're loved.
Just the way you are.
You're lovable just the way you are.
So bring your attention to the center of your chest to your heart and imagine a warm light glowing that's really beautiful like a candle flame or a twinkling star or your favorite type of electric light.
Think about whatever you want to imagine that's the most beautiful light ever inside of you glowing and this represents your inherent self-worth,
The part of you that's always been lovable and is always loved.
Listen to these phrases that I'm going to repeat.
It might feel strange and different,
Possibly because it's new,
Possibly because there's a part of you that doesn't believe it right now.
And that's okay.
Self-love is a practice.
You don't have to worry about if you're performing the meditation correctly.
Just release any self-judgment.
If any negative thoughts about yourself pop up as I say these phrases then you don't need to necessarily resist them just let them float away like in a hot air balloon.
Observe them and let them go because your thoughts are separate from you and then bring your attention back to your light and listen to these phrases I am worthy of love.
I'm learning to be gentle with myself because I'm worth it.
I am loved exactly as I am.
I don't have to perform to be loved.
I am loved for me and who I am.
I am a treasure.
There is only one me and I am uniquely wonderful.
I love myself because I'm worthy of love.
I'm very special.
There is no one like me.
There's no one with the exact makeup and combination of gifts and strengths that I have.
If you'd like,
You can give yourself a hug.
And remember that no matter what happens,
Your self-love is unconditional.
It will not change.
Your worthiness is constant.
It doesn't change.
Your light continues to glow.
It doesn't dim.
It shines brightly.
And it's beautiful.
Feel the warmth of the light.
And remember that you can return to this warm feeling anytime you choose.
When you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
And carry this sense of self-love with you for the rest of the day.
Thanks again for listening.
