How long have you been thinking about doing something?
Maybe it's kicking the drink,
Eating a healthier diet,
Starting a new business,
Or maybe planning an adventure.
You know what you want,
What you need to do to get it,
But yet you don't do it.
And you start to think that there might be something wrong with you.
There's not by the way,
You're just perfectly human.
But there is a disconnect in your thinking,
A gap.
And this missing part is you believing at your core that what you want is possible for you.
How do you know if that's what's in the way?
Because you don't have the result you want yet.
The life you have is always a result of what you believe is possible or impossible for you.
Now I understand you might argue with me on this,
But let's be honest,
If you truly believed it was possible for you,
You'd have achieved it by now.
Many people label themselves as being sober curious,
And then they seem to get stuck there.
If you become truly aware of your thinking while you're sitting in this curiosity,
You might be surprised to find a thought like,
Well it's never going to happen,
Or I've always failed in the past,
Or some other version of impossible.
So you choose to keep sitting in curiosity,
Convincing yourself that if you stay here long enough,
You'll have a light bulb moment and just wake up one day having it all figured out.
Fortunately that's not how it works.
When you have impossible beliefs running around in your brain,
Either consciously or subconsciously,
Your actions will always be in alignment with that belief.
As a coach,
The biggest indication a client is stuck in this energy is that they're grabbing onto all the things outside of themselves that they believe could be the magic answer.
They expend so much energy doing all the things,
It's exhausting and it's unsustainable.
Doubt starts to creep in,
Excuses become reasons,
And you get distracted by the next new shiny quick fix.
Now consider if you deliberately thought,
Whatever it is that your goal is,
Was possible for you.
Guess what?
You shift energy and focus.
You do something different from that new energy space.
You focus on small steps that are in alignment with what you believe to be possible.
And when you take steps,
However small,
Towards what's possible,
Inevitably you'll make the changes you want to make and reach your goal and ultimately have the result and the life that you really want.
Could it be that simple?
Why not give it a try and find out?
What do you have to lose?
Step out of curiosity.
Believing it's impossible will get you nowhere.
Believing it's possible will keep you moving forward.
It's a no-brainer.
And one last kicker here,
Your brain believes whatever story you tell it to be true.
You tell it something's impossible,
It'll believe you.
You tell it something is possible,
It'll believe you.
So you might as well go with the possible story.
Thanks for being here,
Thanks for listening and I will talk to you again very soon.
Bye for now.
