My name is Dieke,
And welcome to the FEM Embodiment Quest.
Today is day number 20,
And the theme,
The word that we're working with is surrender.
Surrender is one of the deepest feminine longings.
And when I found that out,
There was so many shame that dropped away.
So many feelings of like,
Okay,
There's nothing wrong with me.
Because in a way I was taught that this space of surrender is something weak,
Is something powerless,
Is something that makes you dependent on,
Something to stay away from.
Instead,
I was taught to be this strong,
Independent woman,
To do everything by myself,
To be successful,
To be ambitious.
And while there is nothing wrong,
Necessarily wrong with that.
It did leave me feeling really disconnected and confused.
Disconnected from my body and confused about still having certain desires and longings which I couldn't place.
And what's also really important to know is that surrender is not submission.
They're two different things.
And I learned my lesson around that because I thought this space of surrender in order for me to feel and experience that I just need a strong and dominant man to get me there.
Now,
Eventually that happened.
And still that feeling that I was hoping for that feeling of like,
Oh,
Let go,
Not having to be in control.
This feeling of just receiving and allowing and just being in ecstasy,
That actually didn't arrive.
And that made me really have to dive within and to look at,
Okay,
What's really here?
And I was seeing and noticing,
Okay,
Submission is giving my power away,
Is really depending on a man,
Is really needing that,
Is letting go of all kinds of control.
And I had to realize and to learn that surrender is actually only something I can give myself permission to.
Like no one can make me surrender.
That's something that I have to activate within.
That's the space that I can only find within myself.
And it has to do with really giving yourself permission to receive.
And so I had to learn that.
And today's practice is basically designed for that,
To get a glimpse,
Um,
To practice finding that space of surrender within your body and really allowing yourself to drop into that space of being guided,
Being led,
Of receiving.
And this will also help you in case you're one of those women that might be wondering or has maybe thought or said one of the following things of like,
Where are all the real men or why is my partner not leading me?
Why is he not actually showing up?
It's really interesting to ask yourself,
Well,
Are you really dropping into that space of receptivity?
Are you comfortable there in that space of openness to allow yourself to receive and very often that's not the case.
Okay.
Enough said about surrender.
I could keep talking about this for a long time because I'm very passionate about this subject.
But I want to give you also an embodied experience because that's what this quest is all about.
One bell marks the start,
Three bells mark the end,
And I'll take you through it step by step.
For now,
Place your hands in front of your chest,
Just in a little prayer.
Tuning in and tapping into that intention,
That word of today,
Surrender.
You And then from here,
I'm gonna invite you to actually come to standing.
So we're gonna be standing up for this practice and then see where this practice for you takes you.
So then still it might be the floor,
It might be somewhere else.
And for a moment,
I want you to sort of roll your shoulders back and down a few times.
Allowing yourself,
Your body to take a deep breath.
And rolling your shoulders the other way around to balance that out.
And I want you to sort of become relaxed in your body.
So you want to just explore a little bit.
The knees are soft and relaxed,
Moving left and right.
Shifting weight.
Allowing your hips to circle around.
Allowing your spine to relax so you can play a little bit with creating these body waves of moving the hips forwards.
Letting the spine follow,
Chin drops the chest,
And you round back up.
Again,
Hips go forward,
It's a little wave,
You're rounding.
And rolling back up.
So you're finding that fluidity in your body in your spine.
Awww.
You can make them really big by going all the way down.
But they can also be a little smaller.
Hmmmm.
And they can also go the other way around.
So in that case,
Your chest goes forwards first,
You're rolling back.
Sort of like you're diving forward.
Just playing here,
It's not about perfection.
Beautiful.
A few more moments here to just find that relaxation,
That softness,
That flow in your body.
Because basically for the surrender practice,
We want to use our body as a vessel,
As a tool.
Almost like we're becoming this sort of hollow bamboo.
And through that bamboo,
The guidance,
Universal energy,
Love,
God,
Whatever you believe in,
Guides you and guides your system.
But you want to be sort of open and relaxed.
Tense and controlled.
And so relaxing and opening and the body being soft is really important.
You can shake out one leg if you're still noticing any tension anywhere.
Hmm.
And another way to think about this next practice that we're going to be doing.
Is imagining that you are sort of a seaweed in the sea.
And you're being moved by the ocean.
So you're not making the movement happen necessarily,
But your body is in service.
And is trusting.
And surrendered to the current of the ocean.
And so that ocean can be wild and big,
But also slow and soft and the ocean you can imagine as.
Universe source energy love so we're surrendered to something bigger than yourself So it's not necessarily also surrendering to a man.
Surrender is a embodied space within,
And then you can decide what to devote yourself to.
Now we're going to place our feet about hip distance apart.
You're going to raise your arms up to the sky.
So you're sort of like connecting to the sky and connecting to universe,
The source again,
Or whatever you believe in,
Whatever is guiding you.
And from there,
I'm going to show a little demo,
Just about 30 seconds.
So you have an idea of how this looks and feels,
But from there,
Basically the invitation is to just allow your body to move.
However,
It's being guided to move,
But you're relaxed.
I invite you to keep the movements a little slow.
You can stay really aware that you're really just receiving the guidance.
You're receiving the movement instead of you making the movement consciously happen.
I won't be giving too many instructions during,
And then I'll eventually invite you to just come to stillness,
To come to the ground,
To bow down,
And from there,
We finish this practice.
So just a little demo here,
And then we're gonna get started.
I invite you to do the same.
I could continue on and on.
It's so beautiful,
So special to drop into that space.
But the invitation is now for you to have that experience yourself.
So lifting your arms up to the sky,
You can close down your eyes.
Just imagining that you are becoming this seaweed.
In the sea.
And you're allowing yourself to just be moved.
By that ocean.
By the universe,
By love.
By God.
So allowing yourself to maybe even get surprised by the shapes that your body takes.
Yes,
You're allowing that movement to happen.
You're allowing yourself to be moved.
Allowing yourself to receive.
Connecting to that surrendered space within.
Yes,
Being that seaweed in the sea.
And then from here.
Slowly guiding yourself down.
To the floor.
And we're gonna come to finish off into a bow down.
All the way.
Down to the ground,
Forehead rests on the floor.
Grounding yourself.
And in deep reverence,
Deep devotion.
To life.
Love.
And slowly coming back up,
You can take a moment here.
Just placing your hands in front of your third eye.
And thanking yourself for showing up.
