G'day,
Darren here.
In this week's exercise,
We're adding another element to last week's exercise.
For this exercise,
Sit in a comfortable position,
Back straight,
Head above your spine,
Eyes closed.
Breathe through your nose.
Become aware of the sensation of the air passing over the tip of your nose.
This is an awareness exercise,
Not a breathing exercise.
So it doesn't matter if your breath is shallow or deep,
Quick or slow,
Or any other combination.
Just breathe as you need to breathe in a way that is comfortable.
The additional element this week is to not move a muscle while you're participating in this exercise.
You will get an itch somewhere on your body.
Don't move to scratch it.
You might have a desire to move your foot.
Resist that.
You may wish to open your eyes and look around.
Resist that.
You may wish to readjust your seat to become comfortable.
Resist that.
We are focusing on the sensation of the air coming in and out of your nose as you breathe.
When these desires to move come up,
Focus your attention on the sensation of the air coming in and out of your nose.
What you will notice is after a period of time,
A short period of time,
The desire to move will pass.
And then you can get back to focusing on the sensation of the air coming out of your nose.
Enjoy.
