Welcome beautiful soul.
In today's gratitude meditation we're going to take a moment to acknowledge and appreciate the countless people whose work,
Care,
Skills and dedication make our lives easier every single day.
Many of these people we may never meet,
As they work quietly behind the scenes whilst we go about our lives.
Yet,
Their effort provides us with so many things that we often take for granted,
Such as food,
Clean water,
Healthcare,
Education,
Transport,
Safety,
And so much more.
So today,
We'll pause to recognise these wonderful individuals and appreciate the main ways they contribute well-being and the functioning of our communities.
So let's begin by taking a nice deep breath in through the nose.
And a long,
Slow breath out.
Let's do two more of those,
Nice deep breath in.
And a slow relaxing breath out.
And one more deep breath in.
And a long gentle exhale.
Allow your shoulders to soften.
Your jaw to relax and just let your body settling to the surface beneath you.
With every breath,
I want you to feel yourself becoming a little more relaxed,
A little more present.
Now allow your breath to find its own natural rhythm.
And we'll begin by appreciating the farmers,
Growers and food producers who help nourish us every day.
People who rise before dawn,
People who work through changing weather,
Long days and hard physical labour.
All those people who plant,
Grow,
Harvest and care for the food that eventually reaches our tables.
Thank you for your dedication.
Thank you for helping provide nourishment for me and my community and may I never lose sight of the effort and care behind every meal that I enjoy.
Now let's send some love and appreciation to transport and delivery workers.
The truck drivers,
The delivery drivers,
Warehouse workers,
Logistics teams and all the people who help move goods around the country and around the world.
The people who transport food,
Medicine,
Clothing,
Supplies and other everyday essentials.
Thank you for the hidden yet important role you play in my life.
Thank you for helping ensure that communities have access to the things that they need.
And thank you for helping keep our world connected and functioning.
Now let's think about the healthcare workers,
Doctors,
Nurses,
Specialists,
Paramedics,
Carers,
Therapists,
Chiros and support staff.
People who dedicate their lives to helping others through illness,
Injury,
Recovery and healing.
Thank you for all your knowledge,
Your skill,
Your compassion and care.
Thank you for the comfort and support you provide during difficult times.
And thank you for helping improve and protect the well-being of so many people.
Now let's think about teachers and educators,
Teachers,
Educators and mentors.
The people who help children and adults learn,
Grow and discover their potential.
People who share knowledge,
Encouragement and guidance.
Thank you for helping us shape future generations.
And thank you for helping people build confidence,
Skills and see opportunities they never thought they had.
Thank you for your patience,
Dedication and all the care that you bring to your work.
Let's acknowledge the tradespeople,
Builders,
Electricians,
Plumbers and maintenance workers who help create and maintain our homes,
Schools,
Roads and all the buildings and infrastructure we rely on.
Thank you for the skills that keep our communities thriving.
Thank you for helping to create safe,
Comfortable places to work,
Live and gather.
And thank you for solving problems that many of us don't have the knowledge or ability to solve ourselves.
Thank you.
Now let's bring to mind the cleaners,
Sanitation workers and waste collection teams who quietly help maintain safe,
Healthy and pleasant environments.
This is work that is often overlooked and usually never seen,
Yet it's work that's absolutely essential to our well-being.
Thank you for helping to create clean and healthy spaces and thank you for the dignity and care you bring to this important work.
Now let's acknowledge our emergency services.
Let's acknowledge the police officers,
Firefighters,
Emergency service workers and rescue teams.
People who step forward during times of danger,
Crisis and uncertainty.
People willing to help others when they need it most.
Thank you for your courage.
Thank you for your commitment to helping communities stay safe.
And thank you for the sacrifices you make in service of others.
Now let's bring our awareness to the countless people who help us stay connected.
The engineers,
Technicians and software developers who create and maintain the systems we rely on every day.
The people behind the internet,
People behind the phone networks,
Messaging services,
Apps and technology that allow us to stay connected.
Thank you for helping us communicate,
Learn,
Work and stay connected with those we love wherever we are in the world.
Thank you for making the world feel a little smaller and much better connected.
Now let's think about the shop workers and customer service teams.
The people who serve us in supermarkets,
Shops,
Pharmacies,
Banks,
Cafes and businesses.
Friendly faces who assist us and answer questions or just help us navigate our daily lives.
Thank you for your patience,
Kindness and service.
And thank you for the many small interactions that make our days brighter and easier.
Let's bring our attention to the people we love.
The people closest to you,
Our partners,
Family members,
Friends and acquaintances.
The people who love us deeply,
Those who listen,
Encourage,
Support and care for us.
Thank you for your presence in my life.
Thank you for your love,
Friendship and companionship.
And thank you for the moments of laughter,
Support and connection that we share.
Finally,
Let's bring our attention to the wonderful world we live in.
A world filled with people using their talents,
Skills and gifts to make products and provide services that help each other.
A world where millions of acts of service,
Care and contribution happen every day by countless people we will never meet.
So let's just take a moment to appreciate how deeply connected we all are and how many people contribute to the life we live every day.
I'm now going to go quiet for 30 seconds so you can bask in a moment of silent reflection and appreciation for all the people whose efforts help make our daily life easy and possible.
And when you're ready,
Gently bring your awareness back to the present moment.
Perhaps open your eyes and take one final slow,
Deep breath in.
And a long gentle breath out.
Thank you for practicing with me today.
May your mind be peaceful,
Your body be well and your heart filled with love,
Kindness and connection.
Namaste.
