And I'll be guiding you through this meditation to help you soften your inner defenses and allow them to rest.
So,
Find a comfortable spot.
Settle in as the first page of your own fairy tale slowly opens.
As you settle in,
I invite you to close your eyes and take a deep breath in through your nose.
Hold it gently and breathe out from your mouth,
Releasing any tension you've been carrying.
One more time.
Take a deep breath in through your nose.
Hold it gently and breathe out from your mouth,
Releasing any tension you've been carrying.
Drop your shoulders.
Relax your jaws.
Let your body settle into the support beneath you.
Take one more deep breath in through your nose.
Hold it gently and breathe out from your mouth.
You don't have to try.
You don't have to hold anything back.
Just naturally breathe.
Breathe in.
And breathe out.
Now,
Slowly bring your awareness to the center of your chest into your heart space.
Notice whatever is present there,
Warmth,
Tightness,
Silence,
Or even numbness.
Everything is welcome.
As you continue to breathe,
Hold your awareness in your heart space and imagine a soft glow forming inside there.
A warm,
Steady light slowly begins to awaken.
Notice this warm light growing larger and larger,
Almost forming a portal,
A gateway that opens into an enchanted forest.
And now,
Imagine yourself standing at the edge of this enchanted forest.
Floating fireflies softly light the forest.
Gentle orbs of light drift between the trees.
Small,
Glowing flowers bloom near your feet,
Opening slowly to greet you.
A deer with a faint,
Golden shimmer to its fur grazes in the distance.
A fox with eyes glowing like lanterns lazes around.
The forest is filled with magical creatures that move peacefully,
Unafraid.
They recognize you and welcome you into their world.
While you stand at the edge of this enchanted forest,
Feel the coolness of the ground beneath you,
And the calmness of the air around you.
Notice the soft colors moving in the air.
Pale gold.
Soft blue.
Gentle green.
The forest is suffused with light and invites you to step forward.
You are safe here.
Take a few slow steps forward.
Feel the earth supporting you as you step inside this magical forest.
As you walk,
Notice the tiny,
Glowing birds settling on the branches,
Their wings shining like small sparks when they flutter.
Petals from colorful flowers drift slowly through the air,
Falling around you like soft snowflakes.
As you walk ahead,
A soft shimmer on the forest floor catches your eyes,
Barely visible under a small layer of fallen leaves.
Walk toward it.
Kneel down slowly.
Brush the leaves aside with your fingers.
And there,
Resting in the magical forest floor,
Is a small lantern.
Its light is steady and warm.
A ring of fireflies gathers around it,
And one tiny creature,
Perhaps a small glowing rabbit or a gentle silver moth,
Rests near the lantern as if waiting for you to find it.
Lift the lantern into your hands.
Feel its warmth spreading into your palms.
The warmth slowly moves up your right arm.
The warmth slowly spreads to your left arm,
And gently reaches the center of your chest into your heart.
This lantern represents the part of you that stayed tender,
Even when life asked you to harden.
The part of you that remained soft,
Even when you needed to protect yourself.
Hold the lantern close to your chest and allow its light to fill your heart.
Allow its warmth to come face to face with your defenses from deep within.
You are now loosening what has felt tight.
You are now melting what has been guarded.
You are now softening your defenses in its own natural time.
As you hold the lantern in your hand,
Data magical creatures around you pause.
Their glowing eyes watch you with gentle curiosity.
They witness your presence and your courage as you light the lantern within you.
Soft lights rise from the forest floor,
Floating slowly upward like tiny stars,
Lifting into the night sky.
You are allowed to soften.
You are allowed to rest.
You are allowed to feel safe in your own presence.
Breathe into your heart with the lantern.
Let its light meet every tense place inside you with kindness.
If any resistance appears,
Any hesitation or fear,
Acknowledge it softly.
It doesn't need to disappear.
It is simply letting you know it's there.
When you're ready,
Slowly place the lantern into your heart space.
Let it settle there.
A warm glow to carry with you.
A reminder that softness is strength.
As the lantern melts gently into your heart,
The forest glows a little brighter.
The deer lifts its head.
The fox flicks its glowing tail.
And the fireflies drift upward in soft spirals.
Each of these magical creatures celebrates your inner light.
Take a deep breath in.
As you inhale,
Feel that light resting inside your heart.
And slowly exhale.
Breathe in and out as many times as your heart desires and allow the light to engulf you.
As you carry the lantern within your heart,
Soften your defenses.
I invite you to slowly walk back towards the portal,
The gateway.
Enter the gateway to return to your physical body.
Bring your awareness back by wiggling your fingers,
Your toes.
Feel the ground beneath you as you gently step back into the consciousness of the room.
Take a deep breath in.
Take a deep breath out.
And as you exhale,
Slowly open your eyes.
Feel the world around you with your heart eyes.
As you move through the day,
Carry your inner lantern with you,
Allowing its warmth to soften you.
Long after this moment has passed.
Whenever you wish to return to your lantern beneath the leaves,
That is enchanted forest will be waiting for you.
Soft,
Glowing,
