Letting Go Of Control: An Allowing Practice For Calm
There is a kind of exhaustion that comes from resisting what is. Bracing against uncertainty, arguing with the situation, trying to think your way out of a feeling. Your body carries the cost of all of it. In this short practice you will settle into whatever is holding you right now, bring to mind something that has been sitting heavily, and practise allowing it to be exactly as it is. Allowing is one of the most underrated skills there is, and it asks nothing of you except to stop fighting for a few minutes. Useful when you feel stretched thin, when you are overthinking a situation you cannot control, or when you simply need somewhere soft to land.
