Welcome,

Let's begin by finding a quiet place where you can sit or stand comfortably.

Close the eyes softly or lower the gaze.

Bring your hands together in front of your heart,

Palms touching,

Fingers pointing upward.

The mudra of reverence.

Feel the warmth between these palms,

The quiet river of Reiki already waiting there.

Take one slow breath in,

And on the out-breath,

Silently say,

Just for now,

Only this.

Now,

With intention but no force,

Invite the energy to flow.

If words feel right,

You may inwardly whisper the traditional invocation once.

I now begin a short Reiki self-treatment for my highest good.

Eyes and head.

Bring both hands gently to the face,

Palms covering the closed eyes,

Fingers resting on the forehead.

Let the warmth sink in.

This is the gateway of light.

The place where outer sight becomes inner seeing.

Allow any tension behind the eyes,

Any mental chatter to soften and dissolve into the warmth.

Temples and ears.

Slide the hands to the sides of the head,

Cupping the temples and ears.

Hear the ancient said,

The nectar of immortality drips.

Let the hands be a cradle for everything you have heard,

Everything you carry.

Release it like leaves falling into a quiet stream.

Back of the head.

Bring the hands to the occiput,

One hand supporting the base of the skull.

This is the jade pillow,

The place where heaven and earth meet in the body.

Feel the whole spine soften downward as roots soften into soil.

The throat.

Lower one hand to the throat,

The other resting lightly over the heart.

The throat is the narrow gate where truth becomes voice.

Let any unsaid words,

Any held emotion simply melt.

No need to name them,

Only to let them go.

The heart.

Now both hands rest over the centre of the chest.

Stay here longer.

This is the inner temple,

The rose,

The unstruck sound.

Breathe into your own palms.

With each inhale,

Receive.

With each exhale,

Offer.

Feel the heart expand,

Quiet,

Vast,

Unafraid.

Solar plexus.

Let the hands drift down to the upper belly.

Just below the sternum.

Here lives the inner sun.

Let its gentle fire burn away anything that no longer belongs.

Effortlessly,

Kindly.

The lower belly and sacrum.

One hand on the lower abdomen,

One hand on the lower back if you can reach.

This is the sacred cauldron,

The hara,

The sea of chi.

Here all energy returns to its origin.

Feel yourself held in the great mother's lap.

Grounded.

Now,

Simply rest your hands wherever they wish to be.

Eyes,

Heart,

Or in your lap,

Palms up.

Feel the energy continuing to flow of its own accord.

Like moonlight still touching the earth.

Long after the moon has moved across the sky.

Take one deeper breath.

And silently give thanks.

To the lineage.

To the earth beneath you.

To your own body that has carried you this far.

When ready,

Gently rub the palms together.

Feel the warmth return.

And bring that living warmth to your face.

Your eyes as you slowly open them.

Carrying the light outward into everything you do next.

The treatment is complete.

The energy never ends.

Thank you.
