Welcome to Stars and Stillness,
A journey within and beyond.
This yoga nidra practice invites you to reconnect with the sacred home within,
The vessel that holds your essence,
Creativity,
And vitality.
During this practice,
We draw inspiration from Mars' recent retrograde journey,
Shifting from the expressive realm of Leo back into the nurturing embrace of Cancer.
Mars' retrograde in Leo symbolizes a re-evaluation of our outward creative energies,
Encouraging us to revisit and nurture the inner source of our vitality.
This shift into Cancer,
The sign of home and emotional depth,
Calls us to withdraw from external demands and rediscover the sanctuary within our physical and spiritual selves.
Today,
We embark on a journey inward,
Nurturing the balance between body,
Mind,
And soul as we explore the metaphor of the body as a sacred home.
In this meditation,
We reflect on how the rhythm of the body,
The melody of the mind,
And the harmony of the soul create the symphony of life.
Begin to settle in and imagine your body as an instrument,
A vessel through which life is experienced,
An extension of your essence.
Our physical bodies allow us to sense,
Feel,
And interact with the world,
A feedback loop that supports the rhythm,
Melody,
And harmony within us.
As we journey inward,
We honor this truth,
The rhythm of the body,
The melody of the mind,
And the harmony of the soul create the symphony of life.
Begin by lying down in a comfortable position.
Let your breath settle,
Feeling the support of the earth beneath you.
Close your eyes and bring your awareness inward.
Allow each inhale to invite you into the present moment,
And each exhale softening your body,
Grounding you into this journey.
Notice the natural rhythm of your breath.
Feel the cool air enter your nostrils and the warm air leave.
With each inhale,
Draw in peace,
And with each exhale,
Let go of any stress.
Allow your breathing to become a gentle wave ebbing and flowing at its own pace,
Each breath connecting to the other.
Feel the weight of your body resting on the ground.
Notice where you're held and supported.
Imagine the support as the foundation of your sacred inner home,
A place where you can always return.
Begin to breathe deeply and evenly,
Each breath flowing with ease.
With each and every inhale,
Visualize your breath expanding,
Filling with calm,
With every exhale releasing anything heavy or tense.
Let each breath be an invitation to come home to yourself.
As you see your body as a home,
A sanctuary,
A sacred dwelling for your soul,
Consider each part of your body as a room in this house.
These rooms hold the full spectrum of your life experiences,
Emotions,
Thoughts,
And dreams.
Reflect on the sacred space,
Your temple.
This house is personal,
Filled with your personal history and energy.
Yet over time,
External influences,
Expectations,
Pressure,
And uninvited thoughts may have entered.
Consider these influences as visitors that may have outstayed their welcome.
Begin to guide your awareness through each part of your body and imagine entering each room of your house.
Let's begin at the crown of your head,
Slowly moving down around the shoulders and from the shoulders around the elbows.
You notice the back body,
The back of the head,
The shoulder blades,
The length of the spine,
Carrying the awareness down the backs of the legs and down to the heels.
As you explore,
Notice any tension or discomfort,
Any reminders of thoughts or memories that linger.
What energies,
Influences,
Or patterns have you allowed into your inner home?
Perhaps there are pressures or expectations from the outside world that you've absorbed,
Those which no longer belong.
As you bring awareness to these external influences,
We open ourselves to releasing what we no longer need,
Clearing space for what truly nurtures us.
Notice any areas of tension or heaviness within your body or your mind rising to the surface.
Perhaps you feel tightness in your chest or a restless thought in your mind.
Recognize these sensations as energies that have taken up residence in your sacred space.
With each inhale,
Visualize breathing in light,
Bringing in a sense of calm and spaciousness.
With each exhale,
Release what feels heavy,
Creating space for new,
Uplifting energies to flow.
Be in this space for a moment.
There is no rush in this process.
Simply breathe,
Allow,
And let go.
With every exhale,
You are reclaiming your inner space,
Making room for peace and clarity.
Now imagine yourself standing at the center of this sacred home,
Observing the spaciousness and peace within.
Notice how it feels to be at ease in this home,
A place where you feel grounded,
Nourished,
And deeply connected.
Ask yourself,
What qualities do I want to invite into my inner home?
What thoughts,
Energies,
And intentions truly support my well-being?
As you breathe,
Welcome these qualities,
Letting your breath guide them into your inner home.
Let the rhythm of your breath,
The melody of your thoughts,
And the harmony of your intentions create a unified space where your soul feels at peace.
In this space,
We honor the natural state of balance,
Where the body,
Mind,
And soul work in harmony.
When the body finds balance,
It becomes an instrument of feedback,
Helping us navigate with clarity and ease.
Imagine your body playing its part in a grand symphony.
Without our physical bodies,
We wouldn't be able to experience the dynamic feedback of life.
Your body is an instrument,
Finely tuned to play its role in the symphony.
As you nurture your body,
Mind,
And soul,
You refine each note,
Creating a melody unique to your existence.
Take a few moments to rest in this awareness,
Feeling the peace and spaciousness within you.
As you gently begin to bring your awareness back to the room,
Know that you can carry it,
Slowly stretching,
And eventually roll onto your favorite side.
When you're ready,
Come to a seated position.
Feel the strength and presence of your inner home,
Knowing it is yours to protect,
Nurture,
And honor.
As you move forward in the symphony of life,
Carry this inner balance,
Allowing your body,
Mind,
And soul to create the symphony that is uniquely and truly yours.
