Alexa Z Cunningham

She is a longtime meditation teacher, yoga practitioner, and therapeutic bodyworker with nearly two decades of experience supporting nervous system health, stress regulation, and embodied wellbeing through the use of Eastern and Western practices. She began meditating at 17 to help manage severe panic attacks, and that personal healing journey evolved into a lifelong devotion to contemplative practice and teaching. Her approach blends science-informed mindfulness, breathwork, gentle movement, and deep rest practices such as Yoga Nidra. She draws inspiration from Avita Yoga, somatic awareness, and modern neuroscience, while honoring wisdom traditions that remind us we are already whole. She believes true healing happens when people feel safe in their bodies and supported in slowing down. Her offerings are accessible, nurturing, and designed to help others come home to themselves—steadier, calmer, and more resourced for everyday life. She lives on the midcoast of Maine, where she owns and operates a yoga studio, retreat spa, and art gallery. Surrounded by the rhythms of the sea and seasons, her work is deeply influenced by the natural world and the restorative power of place.
