Hello and welcome.

In today's meditation we'll take a few moments to just bathe in the sun's light,

To remember its gifts and let it nourish our bodies and our spirits.

Find a quiet place in the sun where you won't be disturbed and make yourself comfortable.

If you can't be outside,

Sit near an open window and let the sunlight touch your skin.

You can pause this meditation while you find your spot.

And when you're ready,

Sit or lie down and let your body relax.

And we'll begin by taking a few moments to find stillness together.

Take a deep,

Nourishing breath in.

And as you exhale,

Let go of any need to do anything other than to just be here.

Can you feel the weight of your body settling in?

The earth underneath you,

Holding you and supporting you?

Just one small thing that's going to make you feel even a little bit more comfortable.

Take a gentle breath in and as you breathe out,

See if you can release any obvious tension your shoulders or your jaw.

Now bring your attention to the sun's touch on your skin.

Where do you feel it the most?

On your cheeks?

Your eyelids?

The backs of your feet?

Can you feel the gentle warmth beginning to soak into the surface of your skin?

Your body knows the slight.

It was made for it.

You were made for it.

Breathe in slowly and as you exhale,

Can you imagine every cell in your body like tiny stars waking up to this beautiful light?

Notice your skin.

Can you feel it drinking in the light?

And just below the surface,

Can you almost perceive the quiet miraculous hum of activity?

Cholesterol,

That humble,

Often misunderstood molecule,

Is transforming into vitamin D3.

Can you feel the light helping your body find balance?

Can you feel it calming your energy,

Steadying your rhythm,

Lifting the corners of your mood,

Strengthening your bones?

Tune into that gentle vibration inside you,

That's your body whispering its thank you.

Can you hear it?

Now send your awareness like a wave of sunlight over your whole body,

Your arms,

Your legs,

Your chest,

Your face.

This warmth you feel,

Can you feel it as a physical softening?

Your blood vessels opening like tiny flowers,

Releasing nitric oxide from your skin.

Can you feel the tension in your shoulders begin to melt?

The gentle wave of relaxation helping your heart rest.

Stay here in this warmth,

And notice,

Has your breath found a deeper,

Slower rhythm on its own?

Even through closed eyelids,

Bright light is reaching your eyes.

Can you feel it travelling to the deepest parts of your brain,

Whispering to your inner clock,

This is life,

You are awake.

Your serotonin is rising,

Your endorphins begin to flow.

Can you feel the weight of your heart lightening,

Even just a little,

As if the light is gently lifting it?

This light is not only bathing your skin,

It's resetting your entire rhythm.

Can you feel your body turning back into the sacred order of creation?

Even the universe of bacteria within you is responding,

Sending signals of health and vitality through your whole body,

Breathe that in.

Can you feel it,

The sunlight,

The chemistry,

The calm,

All part of one divine,

Intelligent design.

And as your body rests in this ancient conversation,

Let your soul join in.

Can you feel the presence of the giver of this gift,

The one who said let there be light and wrapped healing into something as simple as a sunbeam.

This light on your skin,

Can you feel that it's only a reflection,

A hint of the greater light,

The light that heals not just your body but your spirit.

Let your heart lift in quiet awe.

Can you feel the nourishment from creation,

From design,

From love itself.

Take a few more deep breaths here.

Can you guide the warmth deeper now,

Into your muscles,

Into your bones,

Into those deep quiet places that have been holding tiredness or weight.

And in the silence of your heart,

Whisper if you'd like,

Thank you for this light,

For this body,

For the sacred gift of being alive.

Rest here for as long as you need.

Can you simply be held by the sun,

By the earth,

By the infinite loving source of all light.

When you feel ready,

Slowly bring your awareness back.

Wriggle your fingers and your toes.

And gently open your eyes.

Carry the sense of warmth and connection into your day with you.

Thank you for meditating with me.
