Years ago in Nepal, I watched a monk sweep the same stone steps every morning. By afternoon, the wind had usually blown dust and leaves right back across them. So I asked him why he kept doing it. He said, “The wind has its work. I have mine.” That one sentence taught me more about impermanence, repetition, recovery, parenting and spiritual practice than most long lectures ever could. My new talk is called **The Monk Who Kept Sweeping the Same Step**.
