When we love someone deeply,
It can be difficult to stop worrying about them.
In this gentle morning meditation,
You will be invited to pause,
Breathe.
And soften the weight of those concerns for a little while.
Together,
We'll explore the difference between love and worry.
Creating space to hold your care without carrying its full burden.
This calming practice offers a moment of peace,
Reassurance,
And gentle release.
Helping you begin your day feeling grounded,
Supported.
And a little lighter.
Welcome to the Whispering Willow.
I'm Diana.
And you're listening to softening the weight of worry.
Find a position that feels comfortable,
Either sitting or lying down.
Allow your hands to rest gently.
Maybe in your lap.
Or over your heart and abdomen.
If it feels comfortable,
Close your eyes.
Take a slow breath in through your nose and exhale softly through your mouth.
Do this two more times.
Allowing your inhale to be deep.
And your exhale to be a little longer.
Settling and relaxing with each breath in.
And out.
Finally,
Letting your breathing come to a natural rhythm.
Bring to mind someone you care about.
It may be a child,
A friend,
A family member.
You don't need to focus on details,
Just the feeling of caring for them.
Feel your love for them.
And you may notice alongside that care and love,
A sense of worry.
That quiet,
Persistent thought of,
Are they okay?
Will things work out?
Am I doing enough to help?
Acknowledge that feeling without trying to push it away or feeling guilty for it.
Because underneath that worry is something very real.
Love.
And care.
Protection.
Let yourself recognize that this worry is not a flaw.
It is a reflection of how deeply you care.
How valuable this person is to you.
Now gently begin to separate the two,
The love and the worry.
To do this.
Imagine your love for this person as a soft blanket.
Feel its warmth.
Feel its texture.
It's comforting and steady.
Something that naturally belongs with you.
Something that makes you feel good.
And now imagine the worry.
As a heavy backpack,
You've been carrying for a long time.
Filled with questions,
Responsibilities,
And things you cannot control.
Notice that the blanket and the backpack are not the same thing.
You have one in either hand.
Feel their separateness.
Feel the weight of the backpack.
Compared with the lightness of the blanket.
Take a slow breath in.
And as you exhale,
Imagine holding the blanket close to you,
Tied up against your chest.
While setting down the backpack.
Notice their separateness.
You are not letting go of the love,
Just the worry.
Just the weight.
Now imagine the person you're thinking of,
Not in a place of struggle,
But in a place of steadiness.
If you could imagine a place for them,
Where you were sure they would be safe,
What would that look like?
Would it be a cottage on the beach,
Far away from others?
Would it be a mountain cabin near a lake?
Maybe it would be in your home sitting next to you.
Having coffee on the sofa.
Picture them in this safe place.
Picture them with the blanket you hold,
Wrapped securely around them.
Notice how this makes you feel.
Recognize that your person is okay.
In this moment.
Held in their own life,
Their own path.
Yet wrapped in your love.
You don't have to control or solve.
Just see them steady and supported.
Loved by you.
Cared for.
Safe.
Take a breath and allow your body to soften just a little more.
Acknowledging what it feels like to recognize they are safe.
Now gently bring your awareness back to yourself,
Your breath,
Your body,
The place where you are right now.
Feel what's beneath your fingertips at this moment.
Letting it ground you and bring you back.
You are allowed to rest,
Even while you care,
Even while things are still unfolding.
You don't have to hold everything,
Every moment.
Take one more slow breath in and a soft exhale.
And remind yourself,
I can care without carrying it all.
I can rest and still love deeply.
I can hold the blanket and set down the backpack.
When you're ready,
Gently open your eyes.
Or simply remain restful and calm.
