Welcome to Affirmations for Parents,
A guided meditation.
We are your guides Melanie Edwards and Stacey Simon-Segal.
Being a parent is joyful,
Overwhelming,
Stressful,
Hopeful,
And heartbreaking all wrapped together.
To have our hearts live outside ourselves in new people,
We've brought into this world or adopted into our hearts as our own.
From a tiny hand that grasps our finger,
To driving away while we wave goodbye,
The parenting journey never ends.
Take these next moments to listen and embrace the following affirmations for parents.
You may close your eyes,
Repeat them out loud or in your mind,
Or simply accept them quietly.
Now,
Inhale deeply through your nose and exhale fully through your mouth.
Let's get started.
I don't need to be perfect.
My kids love me as I am.
I am exactly who my kids need.
I am a good parent.
I show my kids love through my actions and my words.
I don't need to compare myself to other parents.
I'm more capable than I give myself credit.
I am learning to give myself grace.
I don't have to feel guilty for taking time for myself.
I choose empathy over judgment.
I am capable of loving unconditionally.
I can't control my kids actions,
But I can control my own.
I choose faith over worry.
I know I have the best intentions for my kids.
It's okay to ask for help.
I take a breath and breathe through the chaos.
Today,
I will do the best I can.
My kids feel safe and loved.
It's okay to learn as I go.
I don't need to have all of the answers right now.
It's okay to set clear boundaries that honor myself and keep my kids safe.
I'm human and can't control how I feel,
But I can control how.
I am strong.
I am loved.
I'm doing my best and that's enough.
I don't need to be perfect.

I'm doing my best and that's enough.
Continue to sit quietly for as long as you need.
Take your time and allow the words to absorb into your heart.
As you go on with your day,
Know you've taken an essential first step.
Here's to a blessed day.
