To be the light you must first create a vacuum to allow the light to come in.
During this practice you will let go of tension,
Worry and regret,
Resentment and any ill feeling towards another person or yourself.
This will free you up to connect to your light and who you truly are.
First of all make yourself comfortable.
If you are sitting in a chair,
Sit to the back of the chair and make sure that your spine is straight and supported.
Your feet are firmly on the floor.
Settle into the chair and feel the support of the chair.
Relax your shoulders and your face.
Gently close your eyes.
Notice your breathing.
Notice the gentle rhythmic flow as you breathe in and as you breathe out.
Feel the rise and fall of your belly.
Let it be soft.
Let your shoulders relax without rolling forward.
Allow your mind to soften.
Settle into your body.
Take your awareness to the crown of your head.
Focus on the crown of your head and let that focus slowly drift down to your forehead and sit gently just on top of your eyebrows.
Let your eyebrows soften.
Your temples soften.
Your eyes gently looking downwards under the closed eyelids.
Allow your cheeks to be soft.
Your jaw to relax.
Your tongue to sit gently behind the back of your teeth.
Lips are slightly parted.
Move your awareness to the top part of the back of your head and gradually move the awareness back down to the top of your neck and into your neck.
Allow the entire head to be relaxed.
Feel a melting of this relaxation move down from the head and into the neck spreading out to the tip of both of your shoulders.
Let this sensation travel down to the elbows,
Along the forearms and to the wrists,
Into the thumbs,
Into the index finger,
The middle finger,
The ring finger and the little fingers.
Take your awareness into your chest and into your heart.
Fill up your chest from front to back with an openness.
Allow this openness to gradually extend down into your waist area,
Into your lower back and your abdominal area and deep into the pelvis until it meets the area of where the back of your legs are resting into your seat.
Allow this opening up to expand into your thighs,
Opening up the back of your legs and the front of your legs,
Into your knees,
Slipping down into your shins and into your ankles and finally into your feet and down into the floor.
Allow this openness throughout your entire body to drain from you all of your worries,
All of your cares,
The outcome that you're attached to,
The thing that you think you want so badly,
The person who's upset or irritated you today.
Let those thoughts and emotions drain from the body and empty out through the bottom of your feet and into the ground.
Become aware of your whole body being a vacuum.
Feel the space behind your eyes,
Behind your third eye,
The point between your eyebrows.
Feel the spaciousness in every area of your body.
Then feel that spaciousness expand so that it's now bigger than your body.
Feel the vacuum that you've created expanding so that the edges of you start to blend with your surroundings.
Let a gentle smile come to your lips as you experience the peace that comes with this vacuum.
Now allow the light to fill this space.
Visualise a bright shining light way up in the sky directly above the crown of your head.
Feel its warmth,
Picture the light beaming down and being absorbed through the top of your head and filling the top third of your skull from the eyebrows up.
Let the light fill up more so that it comes down to the top of your neck.
Your entire skull is full of this beautiful warm healing invigorating bright light.
Allow the light down into your throat,
Into your chest,
Your upper back,
Your heart,
Your shoulders,
Your upper arms,
Your elbows,
Your forearms,
Your hands.
At this point in time you might feel like your hands are tingling from all the light.
Let the light slip down from your chest to your waist filling it up from front to back,
Down into your belly,
Your lower back and your pelvis.
To both thighs,
The warm bright light filling up all of the space,
Your knees,
Your shins,
Your feet and the light is now going down out of the bottom of your feet into the ground.
You are now sitting connected between a beam of light pouring down onto you from above and that same stream of light connecting you to Mother Earth.
You are the light.
Feel yourself surrounded by this ball of light.
Allow your lips to smile.
Feel the energy around you.
Take this energy into your day.
Know that as you maintain this light you will light up others around you.
