Good morning.
Before the day begins asking things of you.
Before the lists,
The messages,
The decisions.
And all the little things already waiting for your attention.
Take a few quiet moments just for you.
You don't have to arrive here calm.
You don't have to clear your mind.
And you don't have to feel any certain way.
Just come as you are This morning,
We're not going to do much.
We're going to breathe.
We're going to soften.
We're going to create a little space before stepping fully into the day And before we finish.
You'll choose one simple word to carry with you.
Something you can return to when the day gets busy So let's begin.
Find a comfortable position.
Maybe you're sitting or lying down in bed.
Wherever you are.
Let your body find the position it needs this morning.
Let your hands rest.
Let your shoulders fall.
And when you're ready.
Close your eyes or soften your gaze.
Take a slow breath in through your nose.
And release it out through the mouth.
Again,
Breathing in.
And letting it go.
One more time.
A slow full breath in.
And an even slower breath out.
Now,
Nothing to change.
Nothing to control.
Just allow your breath Breathe itself in.
Feel what's beneath you.
The bed.
The chair.
The floor.
Something is holding you and for the next few minutes.
Soften your forehead.
The space around your eyes.
Your jaw.
You you don't have to hold yourself so tightly here Just notice the morning around you.
Maybe there's sunlight beginning to come through the window.
Maybe the room is still dim.
And for just a little while you don't have to rush to meet it Let the day wait,
Just for a moment.
You There will be time for lists.
The messages,
The decisions.
The people who need you but right now.
This moment is yours.
Imagine the morning arriving slowly.
Like light moving across a room.
It doesn't hurry,
It simply arrives.
And maybe you can meet your day that way too.
Not all at once.
Not 10 steps ahead.
Chest.
One moment,
Arriving after another.
Take a slow breath in.
And as you exhale,
Let yourself release something you don't need to carry into this morning.
And now ask yourself quietly.
.
.
How do I want to meet this day?
Don't search for the perfect answer Let a word come to you.
Then,
Hold your word gently.
There's no pressure to live it perfectly.
It isn't another goal to accomplish.
It's something that you can just simply return to.
Now notice your heart beating,
Your breath moving.
A quiet life happening inside of you.
Your body knows how to breathe.
The morning knows how to arrive You don't have to force either one.
If it feels comfortable,
Place one hand over your heart.
And before you give yourself to the day.
Give yourself this.
My little kindness.
A little patience.
And a little room to be human you Now quietly,
Say to yourself.
.
.
This morning.
Isn't it?
And so am I.
Take one final deep breath in.
And slowly release it Begin to notice the room around you again.
Gently move your fingers and your toes.
Slowly let your gaze or open your eyes welcoming yourself back.
Take your time and before you move into the rest of your morning,
Remember the word you chose.
Whatever it was,
Don't turn it into another expectation.
Just let it walk beside you today.
