Hakuin's Song Of Zazen | Zazen Wasan Japanese Zen Chanting
by Tom van Dijk
Hakuin Ekaku (1686 - 1769) is one of the greatest figures of Japanese Buddhism and his influence on Zen Buddhism continues until today. His song of Zazen, that can be viewed as an homage to Zen meditation practice, is being chanted in Zen monasteries across Japan. This is the Japanese Version. Chanting of the song might help to awaken to the truth of Zen Buddhism and is a great breathing and concentration exercise.
