Shantih Mantra, from the Vedas, the oldest known yogic scripture, from approximately 3800 B.C.E., is reinterrpretted here with elements of modern jazz harmonies subdued by a steady, hypnotic rhythm. The composition moves from a mysterious, dark tonality to a radiant, light tonality full of hope. This chant transports you to a place of deep peace, wholeness, and joy, and features Heather and Benjy Wertheimer (vocals, tabla, esraj) and Sherrie Howard (vocals).

While I always appreciated mantra, I seldom found it pleasant during meditation. I almost didn’t listen to this track, but I’m glad I did. Beautiful, thank you!
