Receive a friendly visit from a white raven who leads you to a nearby apothecary and gift shop via a secret walking path through the woods.

There,

You learn that you were hand-picked to have a rare,

Magical experience.

Through an enchanted mirror,

You receive a much-needed message from your higher self.

Following the story,

I'll offer you a short meditation for self-love to gently guide you into sleep.

The Haven Shop is a fantasy bedtime story series that will reconnect you with your inner magic as you dwell in the sacred space between waking and sleep.

In each episode,

You will return to this enchanted healing space run by two friendly sister witches who always seem to have exactly what you need.

My name is Andrea,

And I am deeply honored to be part of your sacred bedtime ritual.

Take a moment now to get cozy.

This is your time to draw the curtain between yourself and the outside world.

You deserve rest,

Ease,

And tranquility.

Once you're as comfortable as you can be,

Take a deep inhale through your nose,

Filling up your lungs as much as you can,

And then exhale through the mouth with an audible sigh,

Releasing all your cares from the day.

It's safe to let them go for a while.

Your self-care is top priority,

And you are worthy of this time to nurture yourself.

Scan your heart and mind for any self-blame,

Judgment,

Or unfair expectations you've placed on yourself,

And release them on your next exhale.

Self-love means accepting yourself exactly as you are,

And practicing forgiveness for any missteps you may have taken on your path.

You are learning and growing every day,

And you are right where you belong on your journey through life.

From here on,

The only thing you need to do is relax and enjoy tonight's story.

This has been another busy day of fulfilling your responsibilities and tending to the demands of your life.

It's been far too long since you carved out time to nurture your own dreams,

Desires,

And interests.

Ideas have been swirling in your mind about new things you'd like to try,

Places you want to explore,

And projects that light up your heart.

But there always seems to be something else that demands your attention and energy.

After all,

There are only so many hours in the day.

You look around your home,

And feeling a bit weary,

Make your way toward your favorite chair on this chilly evening.

You give yourself permission to just for a moment,

To imagine what life would be like if you could fill your days with things that brought you the most joy.

If you had the freedom to break from routine and follow your own natural rhythm,

To do things that nurture your soul and make you feel energized,

To show your body,

Mind,

And spirit more self-care,

To fall in love with life,

How wonderful that would be.

A sudden clacking sound brings you out of your reverie.

What was that?

You think to yourself,

Probably nothing.

In fact,

You decide,

You've been lazing around for long enough.

You get up and make your way toward the kitchen.

There are dishes to put away,

But just as you reach the kitchen counter,

You hear it again.

Two clacks this time,

And more insistent.

It sounds like it's coming from the window.

You move closer to investigate,

And draw back the curtain.

Much to your surprise,

There is a large,

White raven perched just outside your window.

Tapping his long ivory beak on the glass,

You are taken aback as you come face to face with the peculiar bird.

But you recognize him immediately as Rax,

Familiar to the friendly witch Jadis,

One of the two sister witches who own the local apothecary and gift shop in the center of town.

What on earth is he doing out here alone,

You ask yourself.

You scan the street for Jadis,

Or her sister Aurora,

But there's no sign of anyone.

Rax turns his head to the side to peer at you with one mischievous blue eye,

And then looks in the direction of the nearby woods,

Before bringing his attention back to you.

He watches you,

Blinking inquisitively,

As if waiting for something.

You are completely befuddled.

You consider opening the window,

But quickly decide against it.

The last thing you need is a white raven,

Loose in the kitchen.

Rax taps on the window again,

And lets out a sound somewhere between a gurgle and a croak,

Looking rather impatient.

You take a deep breath,

And decide to go outside to greet the bird,

Feeling equal parts curious and ridiculous.

Just when you thought your life needed a little adventure,

You think.

You pull on your coat and shoes,

And walk around your home to the outside window,

Where Rax is waiting for you.

But the moment you reach him,

He flies off,

And casually lands on a telephone pole,

Just down the way.

At this point,

You can't explain why,

But you feel intuitively connected to the magical creature,

And you know you're meant to follow him.

So you walk toward him once more,

Your breath catching in the cold,

Damp air.

Rax,

Looking quite pleased with himself now,

Extends his cream-colored wings once more,

And glides effortlessly above the street,

Until he reaches a nearby woodline.

He lands softly in the grass,

Waiting for you to catch up.

When you do,

You discover he's standing directly in front of a walking path that leads into the woods.

How could you have never noticed this before,

You wonder?

Rax takes a couple excited hops before taking flight again,

Leading you into the trees.

As you walk,

The smell of sap and pine fill your nose.

It feels so soothing to be out in nature,

And the further into the woods you go,

The quieter it becomes.

It's early evening,

Still plenty of daylight to keep Rax in sight.

You walk,

And listen,

And breathe.

You feel your shoulders drop away from your ears,

And your heart expand in your chest.

Nature is such powerful medicine,

You remember?

You and Rax continue this strange dance,

Until a short time later,

When you emerge into a beautiful open space.

It feels familiar,

But you can't quite figure out where you are.

When Rax settles himself on the roof of the building,

You notice the old brick chimney,

Blowing a gentle stream of smoke into the chilly air.

You then realize,

Of course,

That you are in the backyard of Rax's home,

The Haven Shop.

You've never been on this side of the shop before.

You see the outline of covered garden beds,

And a sitting area that must be absolutely wonderful to enjoy in the warmer months.

You spot the shop's back entrance,

Adorned with a handmade wreath of dried rosemary and lavender,

For protection and tranquility for all who enter.

Beneath it,

A small wooden sign reads,

Come as you are.

You open the door,

And find yourself in the shop's common room,

Where the owners,

Jadus and Aurora,

Have just finished affixing a large,

Brass mirror to the wall,

Next to the fireplace that's happily crackling away.

Before you can close the door behind you,

Rax swoops in,

Wishing past you,

And taking his rightful place on Jadus's shoulder.

The witches greet you with enthusiasm,

And you tell them the curious tale of how the bird seemingly led you here.

They look at each other with mutual knowing,

And smile.

How perfect,

Aurora exclaims.

I had a feeling it would be you,

Jadus adds warmly.

Now you're feeling more confused than ever.

As if reading your mind,

Aurora chimes in again.

This mirror is the newest addition to our collection of magical items.

It has the power to show the looker the best version of themselves,

And set them on the path to their very best life.

But it only works on the rare celestial occasion when the Moon and planet Venus are in conjunction.

During this time,

Venus and the Moon will briefly appear to touch in the night sky.

You see,

The Moon represents emotion and intuition,

While Venus represents love,

Pleasure,

And beauty.

When this rare,

Energetic kiss occurs,

It can be a powerful catalyst for manifesting miraculous life changes,

For those whose hearts are open to new possibilities.

On the night of the conjunction,

Just one worthy person can receive the gifts of this mirror,

And it appears that you are the chosen one.

You stand there,

Awestruck at the incredible notion that a mirror like this exists at all.

You say there must be some mistake,

But Jadus picks up where her sister left off.

We cast a spell,

Setting intentions for the perfect person to appear at just the right time.

And here you are,

On the very evening of the Moon-Venus conjunction.

Excellent work,

Rexy,

She concludes,

Pulling a few fresh almonds from her pocket,

And displaying them in her flattened palm.

Rex eagerly makes his way down her arm to collect his reward.

Aurora goes on,

When you look into this mirror,

If you choose to,

You will connect with your inner wisdom in a way that's completely unique and deeply personal to you.

All we can tell you is that it will be a safe,

Healing,

And uplifting experience.

Intrigued,

But cautious,

You take a step closer to the mirror,

Being careful not to stand directly in front of it.

Surely someone else needs this more than I do,

You say,

Doubtful that you could possibly be chosen for such an incredible gift.

In response,

The glass of the mirror becomes faintly clouded.

Aurora smiles gently.

Using this mirror is a practice in worthiness and self-love,

She explains.

It only works if you believe you deserve it,

And I can say with absolute certainty that you do.

The choice is yours,

We'll give you some privacy.

The sisters head toward the main shop floor,

And Aurora releases a heavy drape from its large metal hook,

Separating the two rooms,

And leaving you alone with the enchanted mirror.

This is all so strange,

But you feel undeniably drawn to the looking glass.

It's quite large,

With an arched frame,

Showcasing delicately carved birds at its crown.

It's in excellent condition,

Considering how old it looks,

With the exception of the now foggy glass.

The witches implied that negative self-talk makes it harder to see yourself.

Perhaps if you chose a kinder thought,

You could reverse the damage.

You owe them at least that much.

You take a few steps forward,

And position yourself directly in front of the mirror.

You can make out the familiar outline of your reflection,

But no detail.

You look into the glass,

And say aloud,

I am worthy and open to receiving this gift.

At once,

The mirror responds.

Warm,

Golden light illuminates its frame,

And the glass turns crystal clear,

Fully restored.

Except you don't see your reflection.

Instead,

You see flashes of all the goodness you've put out into the world.

So many little moments you never gave a second thought.

Every kind-hearted gesture you thought went unnoticed.

You can feel waves of love and appreciation flowing out of the mirror and into your heart center,

Like a thank you from the universe for simply being who you are.

Then,

The images fade,

And you see yourself in the glass,

But it's not quite your reflection,

More like an identical twin,

Smiling back at you.

The version of you in the mirror has followed their heart,

And allowed joy to guide their path.

They speak to you in your own familiar voice.

You are loved unconditionally.

You are worthy of all good things.

The version of you in the mirror has followed their heart,

And allowed joy to guide their path.

Your reflection looks radiant and joyful.

Then,

Without prompting,

They answer the question that you hold deep in your heart before you've even had a chance to ask.

It is exactly what you need to hear,

And you can sense its truth in your bones.

The words your mirror self speaks usher in a profound sense of calm,

Understanding,

And self-compassion,

Feeling incredibly peaceful.

You thank your mirror self for the loving guidance,

And promise to do your best to cultivate the joy in life that you desire and deserve.

You smile at one another,

And after a moment,

You realize that you're looking at your own ordinary reflection.

The mirror has gone dim,

But you are absolutely glowing.

Bring your attention now to your heart chakra at the center of your chest.

Imagine a beautiful green ball of light radiating there.

The heart chakra has a unique and powerful role in your chakra system.

It is the energetic intersection where your physical and spiritual selves meet.

It deserves extra attention and loving care,

And you deserve a peaceful heart,

And a life full of sweetness and love.

With your next inhale,

Breathe in loving-kindness for yourself.

With your out-breath,

Settle deeper into the knowledge that you are worthy of love in all its forms.

Good night.
