So often,
Our thoughts seem to run a mile a minute,
Replaying the past,
Anticipating the future.
Trying to solve what hasn't even happened yet.
And the mind begins to overthink.
One of the most powerful things we can do is gently return to the present moment.
The present moment is all we truly have.
So be here.
Right now.
Bring your awareness to your breath.
Notice the soft rise of your belly as you breathe in.
And the gentle fall as you breathe out.
There is no need to change your natural breath.
Simply allow yourself to notice it.
Now bring your awareness to the sounds around you.
What do you hear?
Now feel the air against your skin.
Feel the surface supporting the weight of your body.
These are beautiful sensations we get to experience as humans.
So let yourself be held here In this moment,
You are safe.
You don't have to run.
There is nowhere else you need to be There is nothing you need to accomplish right now.
Our modern world teaches us that there must always be another goal to reach.
Another task to complete.
Another version of ourselves to become.
But your mind and body were never meant to live this fast.
External accomplishments may bring some fulfillment,
But they cannot offer your soul the same peace or your nervous system the same sense of safety that presence can.
No amount of regret changes the past.
No amount of anxiety can control the future.
But even a small amount of gratitude can transform the present moment.
And the present moment is all we have.
So arrive here.
Allow this moment to be enough.
Because it is.
Offer yourself gratitude for choosing to pause today.
For creating the space to receive.
And for listening to what your mind,
Body,
And spirit need.
Now out loud,
Or to yourself,
Repeat the following affirmations.
I am safe in this moment.
I give myself permission to slow down.
I release what is outside of my control.
I do not need to have everything figured out right now.
My breath gently guides me back to myself.
My true identity is not the thinking mind,
But the observer.
All I need is already within me.
I trust myself to meet each moment as it comes.
I am allowed to rest.
I choose presence over pressure.
I choose peace over urgency.
I am enough exactly as I am.
Now take one more slow breath in.
And as you exhale,
Allow these words to settle in.
You do not need to hold onto them or force yourself to feel anything.
Your subconscious already knows what to do.
Thank yourself again for allowing yourself to receive.
I hope you return to your day in a calmer state of mind.
Until next time.
