This is a mindfulness practice to begin cultivating the feeling of gratitude through meditation.

Begin by finding a comfortable seated position,

Allowing your body to relax and settle into a state of ease.

Perhaps closing your eyes or softening your gaze,

Whatever feels more comfortable for you.

Taking a few deep breaths in and out,

Allowing your breath to anchor you in the present moment.

As you inhale,

Feeling the air entering your nostrils,

Bringing your attention to the sensations in your body,

Noticing the points of contact between your body and the surface you are seated on.

Feeling the support beneath you,

Grounding you,

And perhaps offering a sense of safety,

Security,

Of being healthy.

Now bringing your focus inward,

Any tension or areas where there is tightness in the body.

And with each exhale,

Inviting to the space of your awareness specific objects,

Relationships,

Or experiences that you are grateful for.

Letting these images arise in your mind's eye,

And holding them as vividly as possible.

Giving yourself the opportunity to re-experience the emotions associated with each one.

And allowing the feeling of gratitude to flow through you,

As you acknowledge you are also grateful.
